The new Museum of Liverpoolwill open even more galleries andan entire new floor before the endof the year. The news comes as itis announced that it has receiveda record half a million visitors inthe first three months sinceopening in July.
Galleries including The GreatPort and much-awaited LiverpoolOverhead Railway will open onFriday 2 December, along with a38-metre time traveller’s timeline,and a gallery dedicated toLiverpool’s King’s Regiment.

You have just released Letters, what canfans expect from it and how different isit to your songs from X Factor?I really pushed myself vocally and peopleare really pleased with the results and thealbum. Simon (Cowell) kind of left me toit, which I’m grateful for. He put enoughfaith in me, the management and the labelto go off and make the album which we allfelt was right. Even the track listing was asimple discussion. It took about 15 minutesto work it out. It just all fell into place.There are a couple of bits where my vocaldoes have that edge to it. But I’ve beentrying so hard to emulate my pastinfluences, and young heroes like KurtCobain. If you’ve got that then you’ve gotit, if you don’t and you try and do it, thenyou damage it. If you’ve got a clear voice,you’ve got a clear voice, and I think I have.When I get right up there, that’s when itcan rasp.Coincidently, Gary Barlow is namechecked on your album and creditedas writer of Run For Your Life, the firstsingle released from the album. Howdid that collaboration come about?My A&R man Chris Briggs was at a TakeThat concerts, and Gary said he had a songfor me. I was apprehensive prior to hearing

As the nights are getting darker, I wouldreally like to add some finishing touches tothe living room. t was his Polishbackground that first ledto Antoni (or Tosh as heis better known) beingemployed by Homelets.
“The managing director ofHomeLets, Alan Binks, hadidentified how difficult it wasfor people arriving from Polandto find somewhere to live,” hesaid. “So, it was my job to helpthem through the whole rentalprocess, when they were feelingquite unfamiliar in a new city.”
He is now lettings and salesmanager at HomeLet’s Allertonbranch and, with businessbooming, looking forward to acity office opening soon. “Salesare moving along steadily but itis within lettings, which is ourmain business, where we arereally busy,” he said.
Antoni, who works just overthe road from Eight, hadplanned to have a quicksandwich and chat but afterlooking at the menu decidedinstead on the two-course lunchfor £8.95.
We both opted for the two-
courses and whilst we made astart on the food (Duck SpringRolls and Tiger Prawns in ChilliOil) Antoni chatted about hisjob, studying, and how he endedup in Liverpool. He said: “Myparents are both secondgeneration Poles and I grew upin Scunthorpe before studyingat Leicester University,where I met mygirlfriend who isfrom Liverpool.Obviously thiswas a majorfactor in memoving heresix years ago.”
The couplelive near LarkLane andrecently becameengaged. SaidAntoni: “We haveprobably eaten in everyrestaurant along the Lane andtried most of the bars. It’s agreat place to live and go out –no pretensions just people whoare easy going and want tosocialise.”
Antoni is lucky enough tohave a study day within hisworking week in order tocomplete a masters degree inProperty Management atLJMU. “I’m getting the chanceto develop my skillsacademically as well as throughthe experience I get every day
in work,” he said. As we continuedwith our main
course (CaesarSalad withChicken)Antoni gaveme hisopinion onpricingwithin the
propertymarket. He said:
“Property pricesbecome
overcomplicated becausetrends and forecasts areconstantly being made and Ithink this just worries people.Any property will sell - or let -as long as it is pricedrealistically.
“For example, pricing toohigh is not necessarily the bestoption for sellers because itcreates a false perspective. Thisleads to suspicions in buyers’minds and sellers feeling shortchanged when they don’t getthe price they expected.”
Anyway, back to interestsoutside of work life. Antonitells me that the PolishNational Football Team is oneof his passions and that he islooking forward to next yearwhen Poland hosts theEuropean Championships.
And, if football doesn’t keephim busy enough there is anengagement celebration to plan.Said Antoni: “I have familyfrom Scunthorpe and Polandcoming over for the party soI’ve decided to book somewhereon Lark Lane, and show themwhat a night out in Liverpool isreally like.”

t’s that time of year when Christmas hasofficially begun and Santa has made his longawaited arrival to his Grotto.
Formerly located in Lewis’, Rapid has launchedits famous grotto which was of course packed withall things Christmassy including the one and onlyFather Christmas. Families made their way to thewinter wonderland whilst some even had breakfastwith the man in red and his elves.
The Christmas Grotto runs until 24 December.
