The Mass All are invited to a 4-part DVD series on the "basics" of The Mass. Experiencing the fullness of the Mass

begins with understanding not just the Mass, but worship itself. Each DVD segment is about 15 minutes long, followed by discussion questions. We will also incorporate both the Bible and the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Session 2

begins Monday, August 13 from 9:30-11:30am in rooms 3 and 4.

The Bible Timeline: The Story of Salvation

Brand New! For the first time in the 20 year history of St. Stephen, Martyr Catholic Church we will offer a foundational study; The Great Adventure Bible Study Series produced by Ascension Press that has helped hundreds of thousands of Catholics learn to read the Bible.

This is a fascinating DVD study that takes participants on a journey through the entire Bible; starting in Genesis and ending in the Book of Revelation. We will go deep into each period of salvation history and discover the amazing story woven throughout all of Scripture. Using a unique color-coded system, we will learn the major people, places, and events of the Bible and see how they all come together to reveal the remarkable story of our faith.

Morning and evening sessions are being offered for 24 weeks. Daytime sessions will begin Monday, September 10 from 9:30-11:30am in rooms 3 and 4. (Seating limited to 50 participants) Evening sessions will begin Monday, September 10 from 7:00-8:30pm in Gordon Hall. (Seating limited to 25 participants.) Please purchase your study set directly from www.ascensionpress.org. The cost is $34.95 plus shipping and taxes. The study set is essential for each participant and facilitator. The study set includes a fold out Bible timeline chart, Bible timeline bookmark, maps, charts and diagrams that bring salvation history to life. Please join us for this brand new study!

Walking with Purpose (WWP) Registration is open for Walking With Purpose. WWP is a Catholic Bible Study for women which meets Wednesday mornings (with free child care) or evenings from September through April. This year, two studies are available: Opening Your Heart is a foundational study about Jesus and your faith journey. Discovering Our Dignity is an advanced study introducing you to women of the Bible. Please visit www.ssmrcc.org, events, walking with purpose to register. Please contact Ann Emsley at [email protected] for further information.

The Letter to the Ephesians This key epistle offers a number of spiritual insights that are most helpful for managing everyday life. Dr. Jack Buchner will facilitate this study the following Tuesdays August 14,21 at 7:00pm in room1.

Upper Room Prayer Fellowship "Change my heart Oh God, make it ever true; change my heart Oh God, may I be like you." "Open the gates of thanksgiving with praise!" These are a couple of songs that reach the hearts of those who worship God in song! The "Upper Room" is a wonderful opportunity to "open the gates" of God's love and mercy! Corporal prayer, if we are willing, is form of prayer that allows us to grow in holiness. We invite you to come join us by worshipping God together in song, petition, sacred scripture, sharing life's experiences and an openness to receive healing from the Holy Spirit! The "Upper Room" Prayer Fellowship meets Tuesday, August 14 from 7:00-8:30pm in the Sanctuary. We begin by singing the "Divine Mercy Chaplet." The topic we will discuss is “Open the Gates.”
