Twenty-Second Sunday in Ordinary Time
Raising Catholic Children in Today’s World How do we help kids and teens learn to make good and loving
choices in our world today? Joseph White, a nationally recognized
child psychologist and catechetical author, will speak on Forming
Catholic Conscience in Children and Youth on Wednesday,
September 2, from 7:00 to 8:30PM, at Lumen Christi Parish in
Mequon. Learn what we know about children’s moral development
and practical ways to help them make good decisions when faced
with moral dilemmas. To help us accommodate for seating and
snacks, please RSVP to Joan Kress at [email protected].
Information needed A parishioner’s car was damaged in the parking lot
by another car after the 5:00 Mass last week. If you
have any information about this, please contact the
parish office. Thank you.
Stewardship Report
Weekend Collection August 22 and 23, 2015
The figures for the weekly contributions
were not available at time of publication
“Every worthwhile gift, every genuine benefit,
comes from above,” says St. James in the second
reading. But, he reminds us, true worship of God
involves using those good gifts to benefit the less
fortunate. Good stewardship is not optional;
it is the hallmark of our faith! See James 1:17.
Society of St. Vincent de Paul On September 9, the Church celebrates the feast of Blessed Frederic
Ozanam, the founder of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Frederic
heard the call of Jesus to love and serve those who are suffering. In
the poor, he found the face of Christ. Through your gifts, the Society
of St. Vincent de Paul is able to carry out the mission of Blessed
Frederic Ozanam by providing families with food, furniture, and
money for utilities, rent, and other bills.

“Father, hear our prayers for these who will be
united in marriage before your altar. Give them your
blessing, and strengthen their love for each other.
We, your people at St. Bernadette Parish, ask this
through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives
and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen!”
