Society of St. Vincent de Paul News

The school year is nearing completion and we havereceived what may be the final invoices for thebreakfast/lunch programs. This program hasaddressed the nutritional needs of thousands ofstudents since September of 2017. Without anestablished executive we will have no choice but toclose ths SSVP ministry that has been an integralpart of this school initiative. How close are we tomaking that decision? At the present time a numberof individuals have come forward to indicate thatwith a “chair” in position they would be willing tohelp. That is definitely encouraging, however, thetreasurers role is still open and this requires afinancial background. This position would deal withmonth to month expenses, tax receipts, invoices, annual reports and statements to the NationalConference, as well as being the CRA contact. Howmuch time does that involve? Month to monthapprox. 4-5 hours, end of year reports, & taxreceipts probably twice that much. The importanceof this position cannot be overstated as it willimpact students for years to come. Please help us tomake a difference in those young lives. Thank You!
