A Note From RachelleI am Thankful!
November is a month where wetake the time to give thanks. Sowhat are you thankful for thisyear? What we usually think offirst is our family/friends,employment, and health. Butwhat are the not so obvious thingsthat we should be thankful for?
One thing that I am thankfulfor is that I grew up in a timewhere I could still run out myfront door and play with myfriends. My parents would just say,“Be home in time for dinner.” Icould walk to school without fearsor worries of anything other thanthe 2 boys down the street whoused to try and beat me up (Iusually won our battles). Mostmajor cities are no longer safeenough for our children to runand play without supervision or towalk to school. That is very sad.
Our world is changing fasternow than ever before. So whatthings or experiences are youthankful for? Are you thankful forthe computer, or do wish it neverexisted? Do you love television, ordo you think it has ruined theAmerican family life?
One thing I know I am alwaysthankful for is the delicious mealthat is served on Thanksgiving. Iam mostly thankful for all of thecooks. I do participate in the meal
preparation, but I have yet to bethe head chef who cooksthe turkey.
So, what are you thankful for?
Casual for a Cause: Willie, Rachelle,Sandi, and Katie wearing purple toraise awareness and funds for theAlzheimer’s Walk.

Tues., Nov. 22 @ 6:00p.m.
“Planes, Trains and Automobiles is founded onthe essential natures of its actors. It is perfectlycast and soundly constructed, and all else flowsnaturally. Steve Martin and John Candy don’t
play characters; they embody themselves.”Roger Ebert

Door decorating for Halloween!
For the month of October, theCircle of Friends traveled toAustralia. We learned all about thehistory of this fascinatingcontinent’s history: its indigenouspeople, the dubious way in whichit was initially colonized by theEuropeans, and more. We alsoexamined the current political andsocial climates of the country. Ourouting to the Alvin Wildlife Bayouwas a huge hit; it’s amazing howclose you get to these exotic
animals!
The Neighborhood Walk and RollClub, at it again!
A lovely month in theNeighborhood. After months ofextreme heat and humidity, we’vefinally been able to utilize ourgorgeous outdoor patio foractivities. The highlight of themonth was definitely ourHalloween bash: music was heard, dances were danced, costumesworn, and refreshments enjoyed. It was boo-tiful!

In Memory of ThoseWho Have Passed
Death, be not proud, thoughsome have called thee
Mighty and dreadful, fourthou are not so;
For those whom thou think’stthou dost overthrow
Die not, poor Death, nor yetcanst thou kill me.
From rest and sleep, whichbut thy picture be,
Much pleasure; then fromthee much more must flow,
And soonest our best menwith thee do go,
Rest of their bones, and soul’sdelivery.
Thou’art slave to fate, chance, kings, and desperate men,
And dost with poison, war,and sickness dwell,
And poppy’or charms canmake us sleep as well
And better than thy stroke;why swell’s thou then?
One short sleep past, we wakeeternally
And death shall be more;Death, thou shalt die.
