January of 2014 was a spe-

cial month at Blessed Trinity.

We celebrated a couple of very

important milestones in the lives of our parishioners. On

Sunday January 19th following

Holy Mass Fr. Sr. Rob blessed

Frank and Carmella Myslivy as

they celebrated their 70th Wed-

ding Anniversary. It has been a

wonderful 70 years for them

and they look great.

Sunday January 12 was anoth-

er festive day as our organist of

more than 60 years - Frances

Plocica celebrated her 90th

birthday. Sto Lat and may God bless you for your support and

dedication to our parish

and church through the

years. Fr. Sr. Rob gave

her a special blessing

during the Sunday Holy

Mass.

A special cake and cof-

fee hour was held each

of these Sundays honor-

ing them in our parish

hall. Love those Leddy’s

cakes!!!

Fr. Sr. Rob, Fr. Wilczek,

Jack DeTemple and

Amelia Smialek congrat-

ulate Frances.

On Sunday March 2nd Frances Plocica

made a special presentation to Blessed

Trinity Parish. She presented a painting

of our Church facility that was begun by

her late husband Ted. Unfortunately Ted

was unable to complete the painting so it

was completed by a friend. Ted was an

artist who painted several beautiful

paintings and was also a faithful and

dedicated member of the parish. He

served on the parish committee for many

years and as a member of the Building

Committee spending numerous hours

overseeing the building construction.

Lenten - Easter - Spring

Every year the center of the

Church Liturgical Year is focused

on the sacred events of our sal-

vation - our Lord’s Passion,

Death and Resurrection. The

journey begins on Ash Wednes-

day where we begin a season of

Penance, increased prayer, de-

votion and fasting. As blessed

ashes are placed upon our fore-

heads we are reminded of our

mortality and that our souls be-

long to God.

This year again our parish is

assisting us in our Lenten jour-

ney: there are both daily Lenten

Bible readings and daily Lenten

Meditations available in the nar-

thex and hallways. Also in our

prayer books we have the Sta-

tions of the Cross, Sorrowful

Lamentations and the Litany

of the Passion.

On Fridays during Lent follow-

ing our Lenten Suppers at 6

pm Stations of the Cross will

be celebrated at 6:30 pm. Our

Lenten Penitential Service

(3/29) and Meal in the Upper

Room service (4/6) are excel-

lent opportunities to spend

time in prayer and worship

communing with our Lord. The

beautiful liturgies of Holy

Week give us ample opportuni-

ties to join with our Lord in this

Lenten Journey. May we walk

closely with our Lord this Lent

and continue to grow in faith,

love and service.

Many thanks are expressed to

those who supported our annual

youth group Spaghetti Supper on

Saturday. December 7, 2013.

Our parish youth were able to

raise funds for Youth Retreat

2014 in August at Camp Howe in

Goshen, MA and for Convo 2014

that will be held in Ohio. As a

special treat our youth group

sang grace to the doxology hymn

- the grace they learned during

our annual diocesan youth re-

treats.

Prior to Holy Mass on Sunday, February 9, 2014 Fr. Sr. Rob blessed new cassocks and

surplices for our parish Altar Servers. It had been several years since new cassocks

and surplices have been purchased. Within a short period of time - more than $1,300

was donated to cover all of the cost. Pictured to the left, our servers when Kalie was

installed and welcomed as a new Altar server in January.
