Attendees are asked to bring a side dish or dessert. St. Mary's Picnic Committee St. Mary Church picnic raffle tickets are in the back of church with your name on the pack. Extra tickets are in the church office, too. Please remember to bring 5 items for the ring toss game. They must be small enough to get a ring over the item. St. Francis of Assisi parishioners our picnic will be held on August 27 & 28. We will need many donations for Bingo, I-Dood-It and Fancy Stand. You may drop off donations at the church office. Blessed Trinity Parish Finance Council is seeking two parishioners from St. Barbara's and one from St. Joseph's . Anyone interested in filling these positions should either contact Father Roberts or leave a message at the Church office in Brussels at 883-2400. St. Barbara's Altar Society will not meet in August. The next meeting will be Sept. 12. Found: A ring was found at St. Barbara's while cleaning this week. If anyone thinks it is theirs, please call Paulette at 618-535-3822 to identify the ring.

Searching for a Group of Women to Pilot Women of Mercy Our diocesan Director for Catholic Relief Services, Vicki Compton, is looking for a group of women to pilot a new group, beginning in October. This local group of women (meeting in Calhoun County): *would meet once a month, rotating homes, at a time convenient to the group *would take time for prayer, Scripture, reflection and discussion *may include snacks, soup and salad or wine and cheese, etc. *would learn about a specific CRS project that is lifting up women and children in the developing world. There might be a video to watch or a speaker to listen to. Finally, a basket is placed for women to drop in any donation they can to support the project. Maybe it's the cost of what they would have spent on a bottle of wine. All giving is entirely at the discretion of the donor! If such a group, oriented toward outreach, sounds appealing to you, please call Maria Carmody, 618-576-2662. Worldwide Marriage Encounter Let us turn our hearts back to God and allow him to lead and guide us so that we can fulfill God’s plan and purpose for our lives and marriages. The next Worldwide Marriage Encounter Weekend is on September 23 - 25. To register or for more information call 314-649-7317 or go online to www.stl-wwme.org. Deacon Formation Program The Diocese of Springfield is accepting applications for Deacon Formation Program starting this fall. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Deacon Mike Hagen. You may contact the Office for the Diaconate Secretary directly at [email protected] (217-698-8500 extension 153). DIVINE MERCY DAILY Ground your day in the love of the merciful heart of Jesus. You can have brief and inspirational readings on the divine mercy delivered daily to your email. They are incredibly beautiful excerpts from the diary of St. Faustina, followed by a brief prayer. The service is free and emails will be sent starting August 15. To sign up, go to http://www.marianweb.net/_e/emails/2016/newsletter_aug.html In Her Cherished Heart Women's Conference will be Saturday, September 10th from 8:00 am-3:30 pm at Christ the King Parish Center in Springfield.
