Hello BT Families, We have had another great week at Blessed Trinity! We had our second Open House and had another great turnout. It’s crazy to think that we are already planning for next year. It will be May and time
for Graduation before we know it. 😊 This month we
will begin our standardized testing practice for the TerraNova and InView Tests. You will receive a separate email with more information about those tests and the dates of the test are included in this Friday Flyer. Please remember that next Friday is a No School Day for our students, as our staff and the staff at Angels in Arms will be on our annual retreat. Please keep the staff of Blessed Trinity and Angels in Arms in your prayers as we come together for a day of prayer and reflection. In the Friday Flyer you will see more specific information about some upcoming events, but here are some of the important upcoming dates:

We are busy planning a lot of new and exciting things for this year’s Red and White Gala. This event would not be possible without the help and support of so many people. One of the areas we need help with is our Class Baskets, Restaurant Tree, and Wine Pull. We have had many families bring in the extra $5.00 that was attached to the class party donation, so thank you to those of you who responded to that call. However, we could still use more items or gift cards to purchase items for the class baskets. We could also use restaurant gift cards, and bottles of wine or liquor. We are going to do a short one week campaign to get these items in. Any parent who brings in an item for the class basket, a gift card or a bottle of wine for our wine pull, will receive a dress out pass for their student. Because of the nature of this donation, we are asking that parents only bring these items to main school office – do not send donations with your child. We will collect items until Thursday, February 14th and exchange your item for a dress out pass. If you already made the $5.00 donation, we will make sure that your student receives a dress out pass as well, and they can receive a 2nd pass if you choose to bring in an additional item.

STANDARDIZED TESTING INFORMATION
ALL 2nd – 8th graders will begin preparing for their standardized testing starting on February 19th. Listed below are the dates for each test:

The InView test measures general reasoning ability and problem solving. Testing for this will take place on Tuesday morning and will take about 2 hours to complete.
The TerraNova test measures skills in areas of reading, language, math, science, & social studies. Testing for this will take place in the mornings for approximately 1 ½ hours each day.
Students will be given practice tests to help them prepare.
Parents can help prepare their children to do their best in the following ways:
• Make sure your child attends school on all test days.
• Arrive on time.
• Ensure your child gets a good night’s sleep.
• Provide a protein-packed breakfast and send in a nutritious snack.
Parents will get a copy of the results once they are scored. If you have any questions, you can check with your child’s teacher or email Mrs. Guerra at [email protected]

We interrupt this schedule for an important announcement…many of our Edge friends
will be playing in and cheering for the BT Ladies Varsity Basketball Championship Game
tonight and Edge will be joining them to start our meeting tonight, hopefully cheering
them on to a Win. Immediately after the game, we will return to the Parish Hall
(hopefully about 7:15) to resume our normal meeting schedule. You may check-in at the
Parish Hall between 6:20 and 6:30 and walk over with the group or go straight to the
Gym for the game starting at 6:00 and check in when the group gets there. Sit in the
Edge reserved section in the bleachers on the end towards the church. You can earn an
extra credit towards the year-end trip, by wearing any Edge Shirt, Cheering Loudly,
AND Joining us for the Edge meeting immediately after the game – giving you double
credit for the night. Dismissal will be from the Parish Hall at approximately 9:00. Hope
to see you there!

Track Try Outs (Updated News)
Track Try Outs are this week!
All 5th-8th graders who are interested in trying out for track, the first two days for try outs will be held this week. All JV (5th & 6th graders) will have tryouts on Tuesday, February
12th from 3:00-5:00. Varsity students (7th & 8th graders) will have tryouts on Wednesday, February 13th from 2:00-5:00. Students will meet in the gym with Coach
Talmadge before going to the field.

Eighth grade parents, If you have not yet submitted your graduate’s baby photo, see the following message from Mr. D’Ambrosio: Low resolution photos cannot be used in the graduation presentation and I request that you please use the following guidelines when sending me your child’s baby photo: • Student should be 0 – 12 months of age in photo – One picture only! • Picture focus should be on head and face
• Photo resolution should be at least 640 X480 (the higher the better) • 300 DPI Preferred (200 DPI Minimum) • Do not use your phone or tablet to take a photo of the photo • If you do not have a scanner, please send the photo in with your child. I will scan and return the photo the same day. • Please email me, [email protected], in advance if you choose to send the
photo in with your child.

Preschool Teacher Asst. Needed Preschool Teacher Assistants Needed
Blessed Trinity Angels in Arms is hiring 2 part-time early learning teachers. The hours are Monday-Friday from 8:30am-1:30pm. Staff are required to have their 40-hour DCF training and First Aid & CPR training.
Some of the job duties include:
• Implementing curriculum and activities developmentally appropriate for their class
• Caring for the safety and well-being of young children

Saving Mercy exists to provide housing to the homeless and facilitate access to case management and support services so that our clients become healthy, stably-housed contributing members of the community.
