Financial Management for Golf Clubs focuses on the skills and knowledge required to undertake budgeting, financial forecasting and reporting and to allocate and manage resources to achieve the required outputs for the business unit. It applies to individuals who have managerial responsibilities which include overseeing the management of financial and other resources across a business unit, a series of business units or teams, or an organisation.

This subject area covers all areas of broad financial management. In a larger organisation this work would be supported by specialists in financial management.

Planning for the Future – Strategic Planning & Effective Organisational Governance BSBMGT616A Develop and implement strategic plans

This subject describes the skills and knowledge required to establish the strategic direction of the organisation, sustain competitive advantage and enhance competitiveness. It covers analysis and interpretation of relevant markets, capability assessment of the organisation and analysis of the organisation’s existing and potential competitors and allies. It also covers implementation of the strategic plan and developing specific actions and initiatives that will be undertaken by people working in various roles.

This subject looks at the policies and procedures within the workforce, focusing on Golf Course maintenance. It involves developing and communicating workplace sustainability policies for within the workplace. Students develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement in resource efficiency, setting recording systems (KPI) to track improvements in sustainability approaches.

Effective Leadership and Team Management BSBMGT605B Provide leadership across the organisation BSBINN601B Manage organisational change

This subject applies to senior managers who have a role in inspiring and motivating others to achieve organisational goals and to model professionalism in their organisation and industry. Leadership is seen in the context of the organisational mission. You will also address the area of Business ethics throughout this subject area.

Business Planning focuses on the analysing and interpreting a business vision, mission, values and objectives in the development of a business plan for an organisation. The subject will cover workplace communication and monitoring of performance of set business plan, alongside reviews of data and system processes as part of continuous business improvement.

The subject area focuses on current compliance requirements applicable to an organisation, through identifying and developing compliance programs and management systems. You will document and develop these plans for an organisation, before documenting the implantation of such program or system. This subject area covers all areas of regulatory compliance applicable to managers of an organisation.

Course design � Initial 2 ½ day workshop to establish a foundation for strategic planning, financial management and elements of leadership and planning. �Workshop inclusions - welcome dinner, daily morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea, all learner resources, lectures and speakers.

�Ongoing Distance Learning from the PGA’s e-learning platform The Fairway. � 12 to 18 month course. �Ongoing support from PGA IGI Program Convenor.
