THINGS TO KNOW CLIMATE In Costa Rica, the average annual temperature is between 70 and 81 degrees. November, December and January are the coolest months of the year and the hottest months are April and May. May and October are the rainiest months in the region, though it is common to have afternoon thunderstorms with the mornings still sunny. WATER The water is drinkable, but bottled water is preferred by some. GETTING THERE We recommend flying into Daniel Oduber Quiros International Airport (LIR) in Liberia, which has direct service from several major U.S. cities. From Liberia, your residence is just a 30- minute drive away. Airport transfers are available, but we recommend renting a car. SPECIAL NOTE: It is highly recommended to have your Destination Concierge arrange the rental car for you in order to receive the best rates and most convenient service. GETTING AROUND Your villa oers seclusion and privacy and is still just a short drive from many local activities and beautiful beaches. We do recommend a rental car as the rainforest and other activities are located further away, giving you the option to drive yourselves, although transportation and a guide can always be provided. While it’s not required, we suggest getting a vehicle with four- wheel drive. Your Destination Concierge can have the vehicle delivered to your residence. PARKING Parking is available at your residence. QUICK FACTS GENERAL LOCATION Your residence is located on Costa Rica’s northwest Pacific coast in the province of Guanacaste. THINGS TO KNOWCHECK IN/ARRIVAL PROCESS Your Destination Concierge will meet you at your villa and check you in there. If you arrive on a very late flight, an airport transfer will pick you up and take you to the villa and if you have reserved one in advance, a rental car will be delivered the following morning.

GROCERIES For just the cost of groceries, your concierge will be happy to fulfill your grocery order. Simply complete the order form on your Inspirato.com account at least 72 hours prior to your arrival. Additional shopping trips are $25 plus the cost of groceries.

IN-RESIDENCE DINING OPTIONS Your housekeeper is happy to cook breakfast for you for just the cost of groceries. Choose from a traditional Costa Rican breakfast or American favorites like banana pancakes, French toast, omelets and breakfast burritos. Select one menu item per day per group; your concierge will provide you with your options during the planning process. Additionally, a private chef is available to cook an in-residence meal for you.

SPECIAL NOTE: Menu selections are required in advance.

STAY FIT At the Coco Gym, you can purchase a day pass (ages 15 and up) to access the fully equipped fitness center with cardio machines and weights, Crossfit facilities and professional instruction. Of course, the area’s multitude of hiking trails and beaches are a great spot to get a workout and some fresh air.

PVA’s TIP: Let your Destination Concierge know in advance when you would like to go to the gym so they can arrange for discounted passes.

HOUSEKEEPING Daily

TIPPING GUIDELINES While our Destination Concierge teams and housekeeping staff welcome and appreciate recognition for exceptional service, tipping is entirely up to you based on your level of satisfaction. If you would like to leave a gratuity, we suggest the following general guidelines:

+ Destination Concierge: $20-$50 per day depending on the level of service you experienced. + Housekeeping: $5-$7 per occupied room per evening is typical for luxury hospitality. + Restaurants: The customary 15-20% of your total bill is appropriate. Please note that many restaurants automatically add a 10% service charge to the bill, and any additional gratuity is at your discretion. + Vendors: Gratuity is dependent on the complexity of the experience or service, so we suggest using your discretion or asking your Destination Concierge for guidance.

TRAVELER’S TIP

One of the most common Tico phrases is "me regala," which translates to "gift me." Ticos use this to ask for everything, whether it's placing an order at the local restaurant or asking for another glass of scotch;

try it out and you just might be mistaken for a local.

THINGS TO DO

SPA Your concierge can arrange in-residence treatments and massages, allowing you to be pampered in the comfort and privacy of your own villa. Alternatively, the spa at the Four Seasons is a beautiful oasis with treatments inspired by Central American traditions.

GOLF + Four Seasons (located at Peninsula Papagayo, 45 minutes away) – 18-hole championship course designed by Arnold Palmer; features abundant wildlife, varied terrain and beautiful views that make it arguably the best course in the area

DC’s TIP: Twilight rates start at 12:30 p.m. SPECIAL NOTE: The Four Seasons golf course has limited availability for non-guests. Be sure to let your concierge know as soon as possible if you are interested in playing so that passes can be arranged.

+ Hacienda Panilla (located in Tamarindo, 80 minutes away) – 18 hole, oceanfront course with well-preserved natural surroundings

DC’s TIP: Twilight rates start at 2 p.m.

+ Papagayo Golf (located in Sardinal, 15 minutes away) – the 18-hole course is not ideal for serious play, but is great for a fun game; also boasts a driving range for practice

BEACHES + Playa Penca (located five minutes away) – calm, secluded white sand beach with minimal wave action for great swimming and snorkeling

SPECIAL NOTE: A four-wheel drive vehicle is required to access this beach, which is located at the bottom of a rugged, uneven road. Additionally, the beach is located about a 10-minute walk from the parking area.

+ Playa Hermosa (located five minutes away) – a popular spot that’s great for sunbathing and swimming + Playa Ocotal (located 15 minutes away) – black sand beach great for swimming and snorkeling, surrounded by hills and cliffs with islands on the horizon

DESTINATION HIGHLIGHT Adventure and beauty are waiting in the dry forest and canyons surrounding Rio Perdido near the Miravalles Volcano. You will first be lured into the canyon to explore and soak in the crystal-clear, thermal waters of the Rio Perdido. Next you'll take on an innovative Aerial Canyoning experience that includes 15 zip-line platforms, a pendulum cable, Tarzan swing, challenge bridge and rock climbing... all 300 feet over the Rio Blanco. After a fabulous lunch, relax in the three beautiful thermal pools and enjoy a massage or the swim-up bar.

FAMILY Get familiar with Costa Rica’s aquatic landscapes – both above and below the water. A sailing and snorkeling excursion is an ideal way for explorers of all ages to discover the ocean’s vivacious, bustling ecosystems (dolphins are often spotted on these cruises).

MUST-DO Venture inland about one hour and you’ll encounter one of the country’s greatest gems: Palo Verde National Park. An extraordinary crossroads of marshes, rivers, grasslands, forests, lagoons and mangroves, the vast swath of unspoiled nature brims with iconic Costa Rican wildlife, such as monkeys, lizards and dozens of species of birds. A boat tour – lunch included – is an absolute must.

THINGS TO DO

ROMANTIC Head to the Bearth Spa at El Mangroove hotel, a dreamy sanctuary with open-air (yet private) massage rooms and decks surrounded by trees, for a couples massage and a dip in the private soaking tub. Schedule your appointment for late afternoon so you can follow it up with a beachfront dinner at El Mangrove.

ADVENTURE Not afraid to get dirty? Explore the jungle on an ATV tour that traverses mountains and rivers, with beautiful scenery and small villages along the way. During the wet season opt for an extended tour or a trip to a beautiful waterfall.

NATURE Costa Rica isn’t short on environmental activities but a nature walk through Rincón de la Vieja National Park is a standout. On the two-hour walk, you will certainly see ample flora and fauna and abundant wildlife, but the main attractions are the towering volcano (for which the park is named) looming in the horizon and the unique geological features like Fumeroles (bubbling mud pots), steaming sulfur and a gorgeous waterfall.

SPECIAL NOTE: The park is closed on Mondays.

LOCAL Get away from the crowds at Playa Danta, a remote and off-the-beaten-path beach that is less frequented by tourists. Located in a protected cove, the water here is clear and calm, making it perfect for paddleboarding and kayaking. On land, enjoy hiking and biking trails and don’t forget to grab lunch at the Green House.
