Chuck Close done these photos because he liked to get up close and personal: ‘the closer you are the more you see’ and he changed it to black and white because it sharpens the picture

To set up this image, we hooked up a black background and used a light and moved it around the face to see the best effect. We used tripods to make sure there was no blur.
