Chuck Norris is an American martial artist, actor, film producer and screenwriter. He was the man who acted with Bruce Lee in the film The Way of the Dragon.Early Years: He was born in Oklahoma, U.S.A. in 1940. His father was a mechanic, bus driver, and truck driver who disappeared from Norris' life after his parents divorced. At the age of 10, Norris moved with his mother and brothers to California.In 1958, he joined the U.S. Air Force. While stationed at the Osan Air Base in South Korea, he began studying martial arts. In 1962, he started working as a karate instructor.Martial Arts Expert: In the 1960, Norris opened more than 30 karate studios. He taught several celebrities, including Priscilla Presley and actor Steve McQueen. He participated in numerous martial arts tournaments, and he won many of these events. Norris earned his first World Karate Championship title in 1968. He defended this title five more times. He decided to retire in 1974.Film and Television Star: In 1990, he has acted in many films such as Delta Force, Code of Silence and Missing in Action. But, one of the highlights of the film The Way of The Dragon was a fight scene between Norris and martial arts action star Bruce Lee, filmed in the Roman Colosseum.After making hit movies, in 1993 he made the switch to the small screen with Walker, Texas Ranger.Personal Life: In 1998, Norris married with Gena O'Kelley and they welcomed twins three years later. He published his autobiography, The Secret of Inner Strength, which became a bestseller. In 2007, Norris was made an honorary U.S. Marine for his years of support of the military.In the present, the Norris family live on their ranch near Houston.
