Business process interoperability (BPI) is a state that exists when a business process can meet a specific objective automatically utilizing essential human labor only. Typically, BPI is present when a process conforms to standards that enable it to achieve its objective regardless of ownership, location, make, version or design of the computer systems used.

Objectives of BPI› Enable end-to-end straight-through processing ("STP") by

interconnecting data and procedures trapped in information silos› Let systems and products work with other systems or products without

special effort on the part of the customer › Increase productivity by automating human labor › Eliminate redundant business processes and data replications › Minimize errors inherent in manual processes › Place emphasis on business processes rather than on the systems

required to operate them› Enable realtime enterprise scenarios and forecasts

Commonware is a set of web based project management and global collaborative software designed to help organizations to collaborate and achieve business process interoperability (BPI) goals. Using Commonware tools, organizations build BPI solutions on an open, web-based platform. To reach for global interoperability, the software helps project leaders collaborate internally and externally with project leaders of business partners industry-wide, so that applications can be built that interoperate across all enterprises involved. Business Wide Interoperability can only be realized with the right combination of community-driven standards and simple, powerful tools. This makes Commonware a practical tool, which offers low-cost means of creating interoperability among diverse network platforms, integrate disparate technologies and fragmented information islands.

Commonware goes beyond ordinary integration of databases, system applications and business processes. It offers a set of tools to enable organizations to build interoperability solutions on an open Web based platform.

Commonware benefits business partners to interoperate across enterprises simultaneously. This approach slashes process duplication and data reentry costs, reduces handoffs and mitigates risk through tighter universal standards-based solutions.

Commonware reduces development and integration costs, and ensures organizations deliver time-to-market products and services for their customers.

Commonware offers a Web Services architecture that conforms to Services Oriented Architecture (SOA) standards as SOAP, UDDI and WSDL to support easy interoperability. This helps create new services on a cohesive platform, which enables a virtual enterprise to generate new revenue opportunities, improving business wide relationships.

Commonware Instant Messaging (IM) supports person-to-person and multiparty real-time communication to deliver alerts between time critical decisions makers.

Why do we need Commonware tools for Project management:› Lack of user

involvement› Communication

Problems› Unclear roles and

responsibilities› Lacking requirements› Unclear Objectives› Poor cost and schedule

estimation› Failure to Plan

What is Project Engine for› A task tracking

system› A project planning

tool› An issue tracker› A workflow engine› An instant

messenger› A version control

client

Office Computer

Work from your office using the Project Engine Client. The client application supports the widest range of functionality and may also be used for managing users and creating project templates.

Any other Computer

Work from any computer using the Project Engine Web Interface. The web interface can be used for most operations. It is designed to be extremely user friendly and it is targeted for beginners and normal users.

Anywhere Work from

anywhere using the Project Engine Mobile Web Interface. Use your cell phone to view, start, and complete tasks. Like the web interface, the mobile client is designed to be very easy to use.

The Technology is well suited to help all small to large businesses and enterprises in achieving business process interoperability.

By enabling joint efforts between business users and technology professionals, the Commonware platform helps enterprises build solutions that integrate disparate database applications and manual procedures into seamless end-to-end business processes, within an enterprise and externally with customers, vendors and business partners, both current and potential.

Page 9: Commonware

The only tool on the market that provides a seamless integration of a full-featured issue tracking system and a project planning tool.

The Project Engine Client has the ability to work both offline. Data will be synchronized automatically.

Client and Server will be up and running within a few minutes after installation. Client and Server can be launched from any operating system.

Includes a version control client that can be used by anyone without prior knowledge. All changes are traced in both directions to the tasks.

Commonware offers database aids for Data Synchronization and Consolidation to clean, validate standardize, and integrate data seamlessly, producing centralized reliable data stores.

Commonware Task Processor Management tool allows the client to request and interact with Web services, manage and execute a vast range of tasks and subtasks, which enables interconnectivity of data exchange between applications, processes, middleware, and network protocols.

Commonware has interconnectivity tools to support (middleware such as CORBA, JAVA), Internet Protocol (IP) networked platform to ensure wide portability and wide applicability with Commonware. All communication is handled through middleware [CORBA or JAVA] and all messages exchanged between components are encoded using the eXtensible Markup Language [XML]. Integrating XML and middleware allows: XML data received from Web-based systems to be efficiently processed by systems providing data access and query services to the Web. Import/Export of XML as files, text and an XML editor for customizing style sheets and forms is available.
