costume influences
DESCRIPTION
This is my different influences for my overall costume for the live day.TRANSCRIPT
Charlie Chapman Hat
Patterned Leggings
Black Shiny Leggings
Blazers
Jean Shirts
Above are all my inspirations I have got from several celebrities from Rihanna,
Beyoncé, Rita Ora, Cheryl Cole to people like Kim Kardashian, Rochelle Wiseman,
and Frankie Stanford and so on. My main influences when it comes to costumes is
from Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and Rita Ora this is because these three artists dress
very urban like and are not afraid to colour clash.
I believe for my overall look it should contain influences from the free artists I just
mentioned mainly because they are very trendy artists and it’s more what the
viewer’s would like to see. Fashion is a big statement towards the younger
generation because people who tend to judge one another from what they are
wearing so it’s very important that I and my co-presenter Shriya are both dressed
very trendy. It is also important that whatever we wear that it complements the
theme and goes with the whole show and because the show is a very urban show
and is aimed towards the younger generation it is more important that Shriya and I
wear clothes that go with the whole set.
Inspiration
Shriya (My Co-presenter) had
an influence by Rihanna’s style
of wearing the Charlie
Chapman hat. Shriya thought
by wearing a old fashion hat
like this and making it look
very commercial and urban
that it would make her look
very different and engaging it
also links back to the theme of
urban. Also it’s important that
Shriya and I dress the part
because the viewers will be
influenced by what we wear.
My look here was very much
influenced by many artists because
patterned leggings are very high in
fashion and also look very funky, they
also fit the theme of urban and also
look very commercial which is
current now within the fashion
industry and is what many young girls
like to dress. I have many influences
by Nicki Minaj’s different leggings
and also Jessie J’s and Rihanna’s.
These artists are all looked at and are
icons when it comes to fashion which
is why I would like to dress like them.
I tried on black shiny leggings to see
what they would look like because
they are very in fashion at the
moment and I was influenced by
Cheryl Cole when she wore the
leggings in her music video ‘Fight for
this love’ because they look very
urban but also very
smart/sophisticated as well and I feel
I should come across through my
clothes as very young in terms of
colouring but also have a smart
element to what I am wearing, so this
is why I decided to go for this look. I also had a lot of influences from
many celebrities when it came to
casual wear because it is clear that
blazers are very high in fashion at the
moment and can be worn casually
and also smart, I was looking through
pictures of celebrities and I saw this
picture of Nicki Minaj because she
wore a blazer with bright patterned
leggings and this looks very trendy
because it looks very nice together
which is why I have decided to try on
a blazer as one of my looks.
My last outfit I had an influence by
Rita Ora who is looked at by the
public so much because what she
wears and she is idolised by many
because she wears so many colours
and is not afraid to colour clash, I saw
Rita Ora’s photo of her in a jean shirt
and I was influenced instantly
because it looks very young and
youthful and that is what our show is
to represent so I felt to try the jean
shirt idea with patterned leggings.
My Chosen Outfit
I have decided to make this my look for the live day filming because it contains
lots of my influences, these being the shiny black leggings and the blazer. I
think this look overall is good because it looks smart because of the blazer but
it also looks very trendy because of the leggings and then the trainers make it
youthful and very urban which goes with the film. I also like this outfit
particular because it goes with the colour code of the logo being black, gold
and white. Underneath shows the whole look from different shots.
