Wisdom Centre is a ministry of the Daughters

of Wisdom, an international Congregation of

religious women. They offer the Centre at

Wisdom House to people of all faiths and

none as a sanctuary of peace and tranquillity

in a hectic and stressful world.

Daughters of Wisdom

We create space for people. . . space to

meet, space to reflect, space to talk,

space simply to be. At the heart of this

is hospitality rooted in the tradition and

spirit of the Daughters of Wisdom. Our

flame logo gives expression to these

roots: the warmth of hospitality, the

light of the Spirit, the spiral path to

Wisdom.

Craft and Chatter

If you enjoy knitting, patchwork, crochet, card

making and more... Come along with a project, or use our ideas

to get you started!

Do you have a crafty hobby that you would like to do with like minded people? Come and join this friendly and welcoming group and bring a project to do. You may have seen a project in a magazine that you would like to try, or you may already be an expert at needle craft, crochet, upholstery, card making, decopatch or collage. Either way you are very welcome. You are also welcome to bring a sewing machine with you although many people work by hand. If you are not sure where to start we have a few starter projects and a limited stock of basic materials. If you would like a simple starting point, Green Hill in Bell Street, Romsey supply patchwork and needle craft kits. Rums Eg sometimes sell simple kits as do the charity shops (especially the Red Cross). It is also possible to ‘upcycle’ jam jars, old vases, picture frames and small boxes using decopatch—this can be done using scraps of old gift wrap, tissue paper, paper napkins or magazines which you already have at home.

There is no ‘instruction’ at this group but members do help each other, and our simple

starter projects do have basic instructions. .
