VIRGINIA STATE MUSIC GROUP
On Tuesday our students had the privilege of seeing an hour long performance by the Virginia State School Band from North Brisbane. The band consisted of 80 students from Grades 4 to 6. They dazzled us with traditional orchestra band songs, thrilling percussion beats (complete with spinning drumsticks and blindfolds) and renditions of “Lollipop” by the Chordettes and “Shake Your Tail Feather” from the classic Blues Brothers movie.
REMEMBERANCE DAY
On Monday morning at 11am students from Kindy to Year 6 took part in a Remembrance Day ceremony conducted by our School Captains – Jimmy and Eric, with the help of Bree and Oscar as speakers and Seth and Charlotte as flag bearers. The teachers were proud of the students for being very thoughtful and respectful during the ceremony. The ceremony closed with acknowledgements of Mrs Lynette Kane and Craig Edwards (Romeo’s Pop) for their generous donations of the Great War 1914-1918 Centenary Commemorative Bears. The bears will be on display in the Office.
