Color Wheel

• A radial diagram that organizes the basic colors

Colors that mix to create ALL other colors

1.Red2. Blue3. Yellow

Primary Colors

Colors made with 2 primary colors

1.Green (blue+yellow)

2.Orange (yellow+red)

3.Violet (blue+red)

Secondary Colors

Intermediate Colors

Also called Tertiary Colors

Colors made from 1 primary and 1 secondary color

1.Yellow-green (more yellow+green)

3.Red-violet (more red+violet)

4.Red-orange (more red+orange)

5.Blue-green (more blue+green)

Pink is a tint of red.

Tint

A color to which black or another dark hue has been added to make it darker, tending to make them neutral in color.

Shade

Monochrome One color and its tints & shades
