The masthead is the same as the other Q magazines because it is a familiar symbol to the readers. It is at an eye catching size and position of the page. Also the harsh red colour against a lighter background makes it more appealing to Q readers. The selling line is to promote what the magazine is intending to engage the reader in. In this issue , the reader is aware its all about ‘great’ music . The pull quote on this page is to tell the reader what the main story is about , and also to promote the magazine to the reader. This button is used to attract the readers eye as well as display one of the main stories featured within this issue of the magazine. The cut out image is layered beneath the masthead but above the button on the right . instead of angle of gaze , Q have embedded an image to the glasses of the artist to create and extra depth to the photo as it were an illusion. The colour scheme used in this cover follows the conventional colour scheme of a Q magazine of red, white and black.
