Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament / Exposición del Santísimo Sacramento After first Friday Evening mass Despues de Misa de Primer Viernes.

Transforming the human landscape, like the task of smoothing the desert hills and valleys, is an enormous undertaking, truly the work of God. Yet God looks for partners in this transformation. John the Baptist, and Jesus afterward, called followers to participate in God s work, and to begin with repentance. We the Church respond to this call today, and acknowledge our ongoing need for God s mercy and forgiveness. Our Advent preparation for Christmas in-cludes opening our hearts to God s forgiveness, so that Jesus might come to take residence there. We join in God s earth-moving project by repenting of how we block God s path with resentments and fears. When we are brought low in our lives, we seek God s help, and God will enlist the help of others. When we realize that we reside on mountains of advantage or privilege that place others in valleys, we are to repent and to change how we live. When we bring healing and justice to others, we are sharing in God s earth-shaking work, and preparing a straight pathway for our God.

Servite Mission Appeal This weekend December 8-9 Divine Saviour will have a second collection in support of the Servite Missions in India. Rev. Raju Sahayaraj, OSM will join us at all Masses to talk about their missionary work.

The Order’s presence in India was established in 1974. The Provincial center is located in Chennai. At present there are 64 priests, 21 professed seminari-ans, 7 Novices and 39 minor seminarians serving in the Servite Order. The formation of the priests of this congregation extends to 7 to 13 years, providing ample time for formation and training. It enables to prepare them, equip them with necessary knowledge and skills to face the challenges of the present gen-eration. The evangelization ministry is widely acclaimed for its outstanding performance and good quality.

The Purpose of Mission Appeal We, the Servites in India, are working in the following areas: Evangelization and Mission work in India and Myanmar; Formation of young men to religious and priestly life; Pastoral Ministries; Education Ministry; Social Ministry; Other Ministries The Indian Servite Friars are engaged in evangelization and missionary work in south of India and in Myanmar. In our administration of the parish, the lay for-mation are given more importance. In all the parishes various associations are active and dynamic. The Basic Christian Communities strengthen and foster faith and fraternal communion. By our presence and life we witness Christ to our fellow brethren who belong to the other faith.

Our Mission work in Myanmar, a country still recovering from a rigid military junta regime is primarily evangelization and a combination of accredited social services that remove barriers to self sufficiency and wholeness, such as life skills education, counseling, family stabilization, service to the sick and the vulnerable, living assistance to impoverished/orphaned children, relief during natural disasters etc...Vocational training centers and evangelization in rural countryside, we serve the poorest of the poor. We have been evangelizing since the last military Regime and amid all the challenges of survival. We have not much external support for our mission operations. Our local in-come is barely enough to run Schools for the poor and the drop-out students. We trust your assistance will help our mission work flourish.

DID YOU KNOW?
