Dunfermline Delivers hopes that ‘Dunfermline in Bloom’ will lead to the following benefits:

Help increase civic pride in the community. Help to make Dunfermline a more attractive place to live, work and visit. Help to develop and strengthen partnerships involving local businesses and the wider community.

Dunfermline in Bloom will build on previous year’s floral displays positioned throughout the town centre.

What is Beautiful Scotland?Beautiful Scotland is an environmental improvement campaign run by Keep Scotland Beautiful that recognises and rewards groups who work together to enhance, clean-up and green their local area.

Entries are judged for excellence across three themes:

Horticultural achievement Environmental responsibility Community participation

Entrants are judged against other cities, towns or villages of a similar size and can achieve a Bronze, Silver, Silver Gilt or Gold medal. The best entry in each category receives a trophy and entrants also compete for special awards in areas such as Sustainability and Community Involvement. Last year Dunfermline was awarded silver medals from both Beautiful Scotland and Beautiful Fife.

Dunfermline in Bloom sits alongside perception and image initiatives Safer Towns and Going Green.

Project funded by: Fife Council (Floral Displays/Planters) – 55%. Sponsorship (ScotRail/Stagecoach) (Floral Displays/Planters) – 27%. BID Levy (Marketing and Promotion - Floral Trail) (Dunfermline in Bloom Entries Beautiful Scotland and Beautiful Fife) – 8%

We are asking local businesses to help this year’s entry into Scotland in Bloom by sponsoring a floral display.

Sponsors will be recognised in a ‘sponsored by’ flag/sign/plaque and be acknowledged in our website, entry documents and in social media campaigns.
