This includes public gatherings, excluding household members, which have been reduced to a maximum of two people. Schools are exempt from this. Parents are encouraged to keep their child at home if they have the capacity to do so. Students who are still attending this week will continue to receive classroom instruction though this ends on Friday (3rd April) which concludes formal lesson delivery for Term 1. Next week, the school will be open, essentially for those students whose parents are unable to keep them at home (eg. Parents/ carers who need to send their child to school to maintain employment, child lives in families with aged relatives etc). These students will be supervised but there will be no formal school lessons delivered. Please do not send your child to school if they are unwell. The Coronavirus pandemic has affected people in different ways. At times like this, people may be feeling afraid, anxious and worried. All of these emotions are completely valid and are not to be ignored. The restrictions placed on us are well founded and if we all comply, hopefully we as a country, will be better placed to deal with this virus. Though these restrictions make keeping in touch with family and those close to us difficult, it is a time to get creative and come up with other ways of staying in touch. Call those you care about to check in on them and use social media to stay connected. Try not to become overwhelmed with the amount of information being circulated. Be mindful that the sources of this information are reputable and accurate. While it is important to stay informed, it is just as important to take care of the health and wellbeing of yourself, your family and those around you. When discussing the current situation with your child, ensure that you do so in a calm and honest way. Listen to their questions and reassure them that it is normal to feel concerned. This has been a challenging few weeks and although there is much uncertainty and many questions left unanswered, please be assured that our main priority is our students. We are working hard to ensure that students will still have access to meaningful and high quality teaching and although delivery of the curriculum may be different, the content still remains highly relevant. Please encourage your child to try and maintain a learning at home routine and to access the resources that are available to them. To assist with at home learning, individualised learning packages for each student will be posted to parents. Parents are assured that they will be informed of developments that affect education and in particular our school. Our main vehicles for communication will be the school app, website and P&C Facebook page. Please ensure that you check these regularly. Although school holidays will be a little different to what we are used to, I would like to wish our school community a safe and happy break. Finally, I would like to sincerely thank our staff, students and families for their support during this unprecedented and ever changing environment. Remember that, and to coin a well used but highly appropriate phrase, “We are all in this together”. We will get through this and we will be stronger because of it. Happy Easter to our school community. Look after yourselves, stay safe and keep well. Shayne Harris - Principal

EAST BEECHBORO PRIMARY An INDEPENDENT PUBLIC SCHOOL

End of term NEWSLETTER

As part of Design and Technology, PP3 made Easter hats. Students were asked to consider the items they would need for their creation, make a plan on how they were going to make it and complete a drawing as to what they think their hat would look like.

Well done to PP3 on their wonderful creations.

Message from the Principal

Dear parents, staff and students,

On Sunday, 29th March, the Prime Minister announced further measures and restrictions to slow the transmission of COVID-19. This includes public gatherings, excluding household members, which have been reduced to a maximum of two people. Schools are exempt from this. Parents are encouraged to keep their child at home if they have the capacity to do so. These students will be supervised but there will be no formal school lessons delivered. Please do not send your child to school if they are unwell.

The Coronavirus pandemic has affected people in different ways. At times like this, people may be feeling afraid, anxious and worried.
