Pastor’s Corner

My Dear Parishioners,

Next Sunday, August 12th, we will celebrate our Annual Italian Festival. As a reminder, leading up to this big day, we will prepare for it by celebrating our Triduum of Prayer on August 8th, 9th and 10th. Fr. Anthony Hangholt from St. Philip Neri Parish in Lafayette Hill, PA will be our guest homilist for these three days of Evening Prayer & Adoration before the Blessed Sacrament. Afterwards, as we have done in years past, food and entertainment will be offered for all in our beautiful piazza. I invite you again to any or all of these days and I encourage you to consider bringing a friend to share in the festivities this time of year!

Just as a reminder, we are still continuing our fundraising efforts for our Annual Italian Festival. Our fund-raising goal this year (as last year) is set at $5,000. As of this writing, we have now raised $4,815; that is 96% of our goal – we are almost there! Any monies raised that exceed our goal will go towards the operating expenses of our parish. I thank all of those who have contributed thus far for their generosity. If you haven’t made a donation as of yet, we invite you to do so. It would be wonderful to hit our goal this year and even better if we surpass it.

Keeping in mind the upcoming Holy Day on August 15th, we have prepared a copy of a special Novena Prayer in Honor of Our Lady of the Assumption. Copies will be available in the vestibule of the church. You are encouraged to take one home and pray it by yourself or with your families from August 6th-14th. As you make your requests to our Lady, I ask you to please also remember our parish in your prayers as well.

As you can see, work on our Parking Lot continues. You are kindly asked to not park in the lot until all work is fully completed. I thank you for your patience and cooperation during this time and we are confident to have our new lot completed by the festival Triduum. Have a great week! Love and prayers, Fr. Carey
