Dear Parents and Friends, During the first semester, students have been introduced to many new concepts and strategies. A lot of learning has taken place and teachers have monitored and assessed each student’s progress. Each child’s achievement is then reported to parents via the written report and the parent teacher meeting. These meetings will be held in the last week of term when teachers will go through the student’s mid year report. Staffing Welcome to our newly appointed assistant principal, Ms Elizabeth Bryan. Ms Bryan comes to us with a wealth of expertise in curriculum implementation. She will continue with the great work in school improvement that we are all doing at Bethal.

Education State School Leadership Conference The statewide conference is being held from the 3rd June to the 7th June. I will be attending the conference with Ms Bryan on Monday 3rd June. Reporting Day On Tuesday 25th June from 2pm we will be having our Parent Teacher meetings. More information will be sent home in the following weeks. It is important that parents or guardians attend these meetings. The meetings provide an opportunity to raise any concerns parents or guardians have and for the teacher to discuss children’s progress during the first semester. Students’ first semester reports will be handed out and discussed at this meeting. Alternative meeting times will need to be arranged if you can’t attend on this day. Reports will not be sent home if parents don’t attend the meeting as teachers need to discuss your child’s report.

Please note that students are required to attend school on this day. Foundation Enrolments 2020 Enrolments are now being accepted for 2020. Families, who have a child starting Preps next year and have not yet enrolled them at Bethal, should contact the school office to arrange the enrolment as soon as possible as we are starting to plan our prep grades and to allocate teachers. Children who turn 5 before the 30th April, 2020 will be eligible to start primary school.

Kindergarten Enrolments Book your child into our kindergarten program for 2020. Families will need to fill in a registration at the Hume Council offices. Please take along the child’s birth certificate and immunisation record if they are turning 4 before the 30th April, 2020. REMEMBER SCHOOL FINISHES AT 3.30PM. CHILDREN SHOULD BE PICKED UP BY 3.45PM AT THE LATEST. Mrs. T. DeMercurio Principal

Just a reminder that your child/ children has been given their Student Enrolment Information Forms to take home, containing the information that we have currently recorded. You are asked to check that all information is current and correct. It is vital that we have up to date information in any event where we need to contact you. Please check and sign and return each child’s form as this is filed with their original Enrolment.
