Finish / QualityThe machine housing and all parts that come in-to contact with the product to be processed aremade of stainless steel AISI-316L (1.4435/1.4404)or produced from FDA-compliant seals (silicon,PTFE).The surfaces coming into contact with theproduct flow including all weld seams are groundand polished (Ra ≤ 0.8 µm).
• Gentle product size reduction thanks to theoscillating rotor movement
• Product contamination is not possiblethanks to the completely sealed design ofthe mill housing
• Manual stepless adjustment of the rotor/sieve clearance ensures no metal to metalcontact and therefore no sieve damage
• Customer specific solutions can bedeveloped thanks to the modular andflexible design of the mills and accessories
• Process parameters can be completelydocumented (distance rotor/sieve, producttemperature, rotor circumferential speed, etc.)
• The large front swing doors make for rapidchange of sieve, rotor and screen support, and also simplify hygienic cleaning
Operation / ConceptThe MF-line guarantees optimum sizing resultswith excellent output for various products fromthe pharmaceutical, chemical and foodstuffs in-dustries.The oscillating rotor movement, constant speedand power input together with the large activesieve surface are essential for exceptionally gen-tle product sizing and minimal fines generation.Dry and wet products can be sized and homo-genised and agglomerates eliminated with theMF-Line. In particular, the MF-Line is also ideal forsizing those products that are sensitive to heat ordifficult to process. The MF-Line output can be further increased byusing a rotating drive unit.Depending on the end result desired, sieves withround wire, square wire, perforated plate or raspcan be used.

Key Features / Advantages
Compact modular construction of the machine and flexibility of use for customer-specific solutions
The rigid screen support and the correct distance of rotor and sieveadjustment prevent metallic contact
The sieve can be tensioned directly by the use ofa single control
The newly designed machine housing conform to the GMP and FDA guide-lines permits an efficiently and hygienically cleaning either inline or manually
Sieve, rotor and screen support can be easily installed and removedthrough the large front swing door
Big choice of different types of sieve (round wire, square wire, rasp and perforated plate)
The completely sealed finish protects the product from possiblecontamination
Process relevant parameters can be easily and completely documented(distance rotor/sieve, product temperature, rotor speed, etc.)

Selection and use of sieve – an important process know-how
Dry sizingSpecially developed sieve types have been used successfullyfor years for sizing dry products.
Square wireThe mesh has a square wire running longitudinally (parallel to the rotor) with theappropriate sharp edges to break up the product, and in the perpendicular a roundholder wire of the same strength. The product to be sized is broken at the sharp edges of the square wire (Advan-tage: higher output, less fines).
Round wireFor screening, agglomerate reduction, homogenisation and sizing of dry, easily breakable products, the round wire sieve has proven its worth over many years.
Wet sizingFor the sizing of wet products a fine sieve with thin round wire is the perfect solution.
Fine sieveFor wet sizing special attention must be paid to ensure that the wet product massis cut so as to result in a perfectly homogeneous end product.
RotorIn addition the correct choice of sieve, the output ability and the related sizing result of the MF line clearlyalso depends on the rotor design. Daily use in production means that after a time evidence of wear and tear becomes visible.
The consequence of wear• Reduction of output• Change of the final grain size distribution• More fines
