-T asks students to explain the current garbage disposal system in Canada. -Do you think it’s a good idea? What will the long term consequences be? Are there any other ways of doing it which are more productive
-T writes out title “Waste Not Want Not” on the board, and has students split up in groups, discussing what they think it means.
-Have SS read the passage, and get them to discuss with a partner what they feel the main idea is. Have a few SS share. -T discuss and compare differences.
-Teacher Models Opening up a word document; How to write, use spell check and Thesaurus to find definitions.

using a dictionary have them write down any words they didn’t understand in Microsoft word and try and guess the meaning from context. -Have SS work in pairs to try and figure any out they couldn’t understand
-Teacher then tells the students to work together, using the thesaurus and spell check to be able to learn the meanings of any unknown words.
-Teacher Asks Student groups to define difficult words to check understanding.
-T asks SS to write out a paragraph on Microsoft Word; giving their opinion about the following question “Is garbage disposal a problem in your City?” -If time allows, ask for volunteers to share with class.
