Happy Sunday, Team Grace!
We continue our walk through Saint Matthew’s Gospel in this Ordinary Time of the Church’s year. This Sunday, we begin hearing the great Sermon on the Mount. Today, the Lord Jesus summons us to be the salt and light of the world.
In our lives, do we seek to be light to those around us? Do we strive to be salt – a source of taste and perseverance – in the different duties and events of our lives?
Some things happening around the parish:
Thank you to everyone who participated in our Nocturnal Adoration this past Friday. As a reminder, we do this every First Friday of the month. Our next night of prayer will be March 6. All are invited to come and pray!
This weekend, we held our annual Ministry Fair. This is a treasured opportunity to see all the ministries and outreaches of the parish. I pray that every parishioner is signed up and serving in at least one ministry!
This Sunday evening (February 9), we have approvals to show the pro-life movie “Unplanned” in our Parish Hall. The viewing is free. Everyone is welcome! Please see the ad in this bulletin for more information.
As we’ve announced in ads in the past couple of bulletins, Jessica Pirrung will be taking on the duties of Bulletin Editor. Please direct any inquiries or ad proposals to her: [email protected].
Some parishioners have reached out and asked about a “For Sale” sign on our future land down Highway 521. While I understand the confusion, I want to indicate that the land that is for sale is not the 53 acres that are being held for us. The land that is for sale is adjacent to our future property, but is not a part of Catholic Land. Our future land is secure. As a reminder, the purchase of Catholic Land is the next goal of our capital campaign. Please let me know if you have any questions.
If anyone would like to “stay in the loop” of my theological writings and public appearances, I would encourage you to please sign up for my personal newsletter: www.frkirby.com/mailing-list.
As a reminder, our next Formation Day is this Saturday, February 15. We’ll be discussing the role of the prophets in salvation history. I hope many of you can come!
More updates next week. Oremus pro invicem (let’s pray for one another)!
