FILMING DAY – PRODUCTION PROCESS.

Page 2: Filming day

As we were filming during the winter we knew that it would get dark early so we began our day promptly at 9am meeting on ley St. in Ilford.

Our props, camera and tripod packed in our travel bag ready to commence our filming.

One of the first locations we went to was a brick wall by Ilford library to shoot our close up shots of the female character lip singing the chorus. As this was a close-up we

required the camera to be very stable so we used our tripod.

Our original plan was to use a rooftop location in Custom house by the excel, however we noticed the sunlight was dimming and we would have to adapt our plan, so we went

on top of an Ilford car park and got those shots done. Luckily the view was pretty spectacular and we was very impressed with the way our changed plans still turned out

to be somewhat of a success.

We then decided to make our way to our excel location as this is where the majority of our filming was being done. Also the excel location was all dependent on natural light as opposed to Piccadilly which is a well lit area, so it made sense for us to move onto this location next. Unfortunately we didn't’t consider that it was winter and the trees were

bare so it didn’t look as we had expected but nevertheless we worked around that setback and shot from low angles to hide this.

Whilst at the excel we took the elevator to a bridge passing over the Thames which had fantastic views of famous landmarks such as the O2. Here we took loads of location shots and done some filming on the bridge. Because of the background we took some photos of our artist for our Digipak.

These are some of the photos we took of our artist whilst on the bridge next to the excel center.

Coincidently we stumbled across an engraving of the letter ‘D’ on the bridge opposite a picturesque view of canary wharf and the docklands. We took a photo of this as we could use it in our ancillary tasks as well as the music video as our artists name begins with the

initial ‘D’.

We then swiftly moved on to Piccadilly circus, just as the sun was setting. This was by far the most difficult location we filmed in as it was incredibly crowded. We had to film

several re-takes as people kept walking in front of the camera. In the end we had to form a circle around the artist and camera in order to avoid this, blocking off a small area. This

was our last location were we filmed our artist rapping and done a couple of location shots.
