First Sunday of Advent November 29, 2015

I will raise up for David a just shoot; he shall do what is right

and just in the land. -- Jeremiah 33:15

THE COMING KINGDOM

Jeremiah could see it coming--the kingship of Jesus and the restoration of Jerusalem. But was anybody listening? Is anybody listening now? It must have been tough being a prophet, but Jeremiah was persistent in his message be-cause he knew that it needed to be heard. Also persistent in his message is Paul as he encourages the Thessalonians--and all of us--to live in accordance with the kingship that Jeremiah foretold. He encourages us to conduct ourselves in ways of holiness so that we may be well prepared for the king's coming. Finally, Jesus himself tells us to be ever diligent so that we may gain favor before our God and King. Jeremiah could see the kingship of Jesus coming. As we begin the season of Advent, Paul and Jesus tell us not only how to prepare for the Kingdom, but how to live it day to day. Copyright (c) J. S. Paluch Co.

ping list and bring to church: boxes of stuffing mix, pie crust mix, potato, cans of pumpkin, evaporated milk, cranberries, turkey gravy, noodles and hot or cold cere-als. Of course, families need every day staples, so each and every donation is appreciated! You have given, you have sacrificed and we are grateful. -Ladies of St Vincent de Paul Auxiliary

Out With The Old… In With The New!

St. Vincent de Paul Parish has received a very gen-erous donation for a new, digital parish sign. The old sign was removed and rebuilt to include digital technology and LED lighting, and the existing frame was repainted! What a wonderful way to make our community aware of the many parish and parish school activi-ties and events here at St. Vincent de Paul. The new technology allows us to update the sign as often as hourly—right from the parish office!

Please take a look after Mass!!
