JUROR'S STATEMENT
Arthur Roger
I am grateful for the opportunity to select six awards for the 199 5 Florida Artist Group 45th exhibition. In the case of this exhibition one work by eac h artist was inc luded and hung when I arrived. To see the works in person and so professionally p resented in the gallery made my task as juro r ve ry pleasurable. I based my selection of awards on the beauty. intelligence, c raftsmanship and depth of meaning of each work.

FLORIDA ARTIST GROUP, INC.
PURPOSE
The FLORIDA ARTIST GROUP was incorporated as a non-profit organization of practicing artists who had gained recognition nationally o r state-wide and whose work would contribute significantly to its exhibitions. The purpose is the stimulation of finer standards of the creative effort within the State of Florida.
ANNUAL SYMPOSIUM
Since 1949. the Florida Artist Group has held a symposium and a members' exhibition each year in a different Florida city. Its educational and other cultural aims are advocated at these meetings through lectures, panel discussions. films and exhibits.
In addition to the Symposium and Exhibition held in the Spring, a rea exhibitions and meetings are sponsored at other times in various places in the state. The nature of these meetings follows, in a small way, the character of the Spring meeting. They also serve to bring the members of the organization more closely together.
JURIED SHOWS
To insure an annual exhibition of exceptional quality, the show is juried. The organization always brings in an eminent juror from out-of-state who is primarily associated with art administration, education or a painter or sculptor of national repute. Past locations of Exhibitions have included the Norton Gallery, Ringling Museum, Cummer Gallery of Art, the Jacksonville Art Museum. Miami Metropolitan Museum and the Lowe Museum, University of South Florida, University of Florida, Rollins College, Daytona Museum of Arts and Sciences and many other outstanding galleries.
