FRIDAY FLYER Blessed Trinity Catholic School April 24, 2020 Follow us on Social Media: facebook/btschool @BTSocala From the Principal’s Desk Hello BT Families and Happy Friday! We have made it through another week of Distance Learning, and I saw and heard about some really great things that are occurring on our Blessed Trinity “Satellite Campuses”. I was able to participate in Mrs. Marshall’s small group Zoom meeting, where she introduced the next novel that her class is going to be reading. Zoom allows you to have breakout rooms and Mrs. Marshall tried this and (with the help of some other teachers) was able to have 7 small group discussions. It was wonderful to see and hear them all sharing their ideas – it was as close to being back in school as we could be! I was also able to see Mrs. Bragoli and Mrs. Rivera play some Zoom games that the kids loved, and Mrs. Turner and Mrs. Toone took their students on a virtual field trip to Epcot to see the Flower and Garden Exhibit and ride Living with the Land, as part of their unit on plants. These are just a few of the really awesome things going on in our “classrooms”! Looking ahead to the next few weeks, we are looking for some more ways to continue to come together while we are apart. We will be continuing with our BT Fun Fridays and next week’s theme is Future Day. You can dress like what you want to be in the future or maybe you want to dress up in what you think people will wear in the future. Use your imagination and have fun! We will also be holding our BT Spirt Week and Teacher Appreciation Week on May 4 th – 8 th . Our Student Lighthouse Team (Student Council) met this week via Zoom and picked some really great themes. The list of dress up days for our Virtual Spirit Week is in this Flyer and I hope that you will join us and share your BT Spirit. We have an idea for a way to cap off Teacher Appreciation Week, but we just need to wait for the Stay At Home Order to be lifted, so we will be sending out more information on that. For the end of the year, we are working on a plan for Baccalaureate, Graduation, and our End of the Year Awards, and will send that information out to 8 th grade families at the beginning of next week. We will also be waiting to see what the new guidance is for crowds, social distancing, etc., and then use this to arrange times in May for students to come and clean out their lockers, and pick up their materials from teachers, etc. Finally, many of you have asked how you can help while we are away. The best help that you can give us right now is your support on social media. We still have spaces available in every grade level, especially Kindergarten, 1 st , 5 th and 6 th grades. If you know of anyone who is looking for a school – tell them about us. Continue sharing your positive posts on Facebook. From the Principal’s Desk Hello BT Families and Happy Friday!

We have made it through another week of Distance Learning, and I saw and heard about some really great things that are occurring on our Blessed Trinity

“Satellite Campuses”. 😊 I was able to participate in Mrs. Marshall’s small

group Zoom meeting, where she introduced the next novel that her class is going to be reading.

We will also be holding our BT Spirt Week and Teacher Appreciation Week on May 4th – 8th. Our Student Lighthouse Team (Student Council) met this week via Zoom and picked some really great themes. The list of dress up days for our Virtual Spirit Week is in this Flyer and I hope that you will join us and share your BT Spirit. We have an idea for a way to cap off Teacher Appreciation Week, but we just need to wait for the Stay At Home Order to be lifted, so we will be sending out more information on that.

material I could purchase. Doing that and continuing to do all that you are doing to support your children at home are the two best ways you can help us right now.

Thank you again for all that you are doing. I am so very thankful for all that our teachers and staff our doing, how our students have met this new challenge with such grace, and how supportive all of you have been. The best part of Blessed Trinity has always been the family feeling and support and you all continue to show that from afar!

May God bless you and keep you safe and healthy.

Peace be with you,

Megan Losito

SCRIP SCOOP

Due to Covid-19 the Scrip office has been closed. However, you can

still receive your rebates by ordering e-gift cards through the Great

Lakes website. Here is important information for ordering e-gift cards

online while the scrip office is closed.

1.) If you would like to set up an online account to purchase and receive e-gift

cards through the Great Lakes program please send the following

information to [email protected]

i. First and Last name of parent

ii. First and Last name of the child or family that will be receiving the

credit

iii. Phone number

iv. Valid email address that you would like to use for your online

account.

2.) The scrip office will set you up through our Great Lakes system here at BT

to ensure you receive your credits. Then Great Lakes will then send you an

email on how to set up your account. They will also send you step by step

instructions on how to place an order and use the e-gift cards.

3.) Please note that local vendors (i.e Publix, Mojos, Ale House, etc.) will not be

available for e-gift card purchases. Only national vendors are available for

e-gift card purchases. For example you can still purchase and use e-gift

cards to the following places:

Amazon Pizza Hut

Bath and Body Works Target

Darden (Olive Garden, etc) Walmart

We have seen that many families are still using the online program and we would

like to thank you all for your continued support at this time. If you have any

questions please feel free to contact Kristin Schnur at 352-362-3270. Thank you

all and God Bless!
