Many congratulations to Mike Ryan David Stroud and team for their outstanding research onmitochondrial function A tour de force of cell biology and proteomics has led to a much deeperunderstanding of the role of the subunits that make up Complex I of the electron transport chain Theirresearch has the potential to help alleviate the problem of mitochondrial disease and is the culminationof many years of hard work
And congratulations to one of our undergraduate students Anoushka Lal who has successfully outshycompeted hundreds of other applicants to scoop a junior nobel prize ndash winning the oceanic regions lifeshysciences category in the Undergraduate Awards
In other news in a great example of collaborative research seven of our researchers have securedintershyfaculty funding from the inaurgural ScienceshyFBPS seed funding scheme
Best wishes John
