He was born April 18, 1962 in Wharton the son of Clyde James Mitchell, Sr. and Mamie Johnson. Survivors include his mother, Mamie Johnson of Wharton; son. Troy Lucas Johnson of Houston; daughter, Courtney Johnson of Houston; brothers, Gaylon Johnson, Quincey Hayes both of Wharton and Clyde James Mitch- ell, Jr. of Houston; sisters, Vanetta Jackson of Kendleton and Kath- ryn Scott of Illinois; and a host of other relatives and friends.. They gave her the pre- cious name of Neddy Beatrice Mitchell. Being the only child born to this union, she was raised in Al- leyton and attended the public schools of Colorado County. Shortly thereafter, Neddy met and married Mr. Raymond Perkins and to this union, a hand- some son was born, Willis LaFran Perkins. Together they made Colum- bus their home. After Neddy and Raymond parted ways, she moved and lived in Houston for several years as well as the surrounding areas including the cities of Galveston, Victoria and Rosenberg. Eventually, she met Mr. An- drew Phillips. Their love for each other led to holy matrimony on October 20,1968. They resided in Baytown for years until they decided to move back to their hometown, Alleyton, Texas. They were united for 30 years until he entered into eternal rest. Neddy's spiritual roots began at a very young age when she confessed her belief in Christ. She was a long-time member of Green Grove Baptist Church. As a faith- ful child of God, she was a member of the Nurse's Aide Ministry. She also displayed great joy minister- ing the word to others. Even when she was ill, she would continue to submit bible scriptures to Colorado County's paper, "The Citizen". Being a Christian, Neddy al- ways gave unconditional love to everyone she knew. She was the strength of the itoiily, 1 and will always be re- membered for her kind and loving ways. Sadly, on December 4, Needy Beatrice Phillips answered God's call. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Phillips; son, Willis LaFran Perkins, Sr.; mother, Beatrice Sandford "Aunt B"; and father, James Mitchell. She leaves to cherish her loving memories seven devoted grandchildren, Herbert James Perkins (Ann), Willis James Per- kins, Jr. (Mary), Marilyn Ann Mclntyre (Sherman), La'Ray Per- kins (Shirley), Kim Trahan (Eric), Brett Perkins and Chakita James (Caudrell); 20 loving great-grand- children, Christopher, Shantell, Elise, Charmaine, Shermetra, Andre, Keisha, Brandon, Rodney, Connie, Erica, Jared, Taylor, Dan- iel, Gabriel, Tavaros, Jasmine, DeAndre, Ervinae and Undrell; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and a hosts of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives, Green Grove Baptist Church family and many friends. Funeral services were held Saturday, December 12 at 11 am, from Green Grove Baptist Church in Columbus with Rev. Eugene Thomas, pastor, officiating. Neddy will peacefully rest at Alleyton Cemetery. Survivors include her hus- band, Marvin J. Semora of Sealy; sister-in-law, Melba Beverlin of Austin; and nephew, Richard B. Beverlin, Jr. and wife, Laurie of Kemah, Texas. Geneva was born the daughter of Henry A. and Marie M. (Arnold) Richardson in Wharton. She was raised in Wallis and attended Wallis Schools. Geneva was joined in mar- riage to Mr. Richard Daniel Witte and following his death she was joined in marriage to Mr. Jackie L. Smith. Geneva was a lifelong homemaker. She enjoyed yard work, watching sports includ- ing, football, ice skating, tennis and gymnastics and liked to go fishing. Above all these things, Ge- neva truly loved her children and grandchildren. Geneva Witte Smith passed away on Saturday, December 5, inKaty. She was raised in Wallis and attended Wallis Schools.

Geneva was joined in mar- riage to Mr. Richard Daniel Witte and following his death she was joined in marriage to Mr. Jackie L. Smith. Geneva was a lifelong homemaker. She enjoyed yard work, watching sports includ- ing, football, ice skating, tennis and gymnastics and liked to go fishing.

Above all these things, Ge- neva truly loved her children and grandchildren.

Geneva Witte Smith passed away on Saturday, December 5, inKaty.

Geneva is survived by chil- dren, Kenneth Robert Witte and wife Sharon of Alleyton, Larry Wayne Witte and wife, Laura of Eagle Lake, Rodney Dean Witte of Eagle Lake, Rebecca Renee Baros and husband, David of El Campo; grandchildren, Dan- ielle Godina and husband, Juan, Ashley Crain, Kellin Witte, Coy Baros; great grandson, Dyllan Witte; sisters, Loretta Vance of Atascocita, Elaine Blinka and husband, Alvin of Rosenberg, Beverly Richardson and husband, Paul Saucedo of Seguin and Doro- thy Browning and husband, Bob of El Campo; her pet, Mupsey; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Marie Richardson; brothers, Neal "Sun- nyman" Richardson and William "Bubba" Richardson; grandson, Paul D. Baros; husbands, Rich- ard Daniel Witte and Jackie L. Smith.
