It includes a website, a free mobile app and social media channels on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. It’s designed to give parents the support they need to help their children’s learning, wellbeing and overall development, and provide advice on appropriate use of technology. Teacher, curriculum experts, external subject matter specialists and parents have created the content for School A to Z. It’ s practical and in plain-English, and aligns with what is taught in the NSW public school classrooms and addresses the concerns parents have. It’s also been developed with the input of the NSW Primary Principals’ Association, the NSW Secondary Principals’ Council and the Federation of Parents and Citizens’ Association of NSW. Included in the 1,000 content items are assignment starters, easy- to-read subject glossaries on Maths and English term, ‘how-to’ videos, printable homework help sheets, lunch box recipes, a technology A-Z, articles, videos and podcasts full of expert tips and information. Much of this content was created with a dual purpose in mind-to provide teachers and year advisors with a go-to reference for parents on common discussion topics. In fact, many school are using School A-Z resources as part of their transition and orientation programs for parents. Common parent concerns covered by School A to Z videos, featuring advice from NSW public school teachers, include: Advice on how to prepare for the various stages of school life Tips on how to handle bullying and build resilience How parents can help with primary and high school homework Preparing for the HSC How to help with maths homework Advice on how parents can best communicate with their school Strategies to build reading skills and how to tackle essay writing End of Year I would especially like to acknowledge those families who have been with us for many years and will no longer have children with us. School A to Z

School A to Z is our new online school community for parents. It

includes a website, a free mobile app and social media channels on

Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. It’s designed to give parents the

support they need to help their children’s learning, wellbeing and

overall development, and provide advice on appropriate use of

technology.

Teacher, curriculum experts, external subject matter specialists and

parents have created the content for School A to Z. It’s practical

CAROLS IN THE PARK

Hallidays Point Community Church are providing Carols by torchlight in Wylie Breckenridge Park on Saturday 17 December commencing 6.30 pm to 8.30pm. Taree City Band and a host of talented musicians will provide entertainment. (Please bring a chair and torch) Santa will also visit with gifts for the children. BBQ and drinks will be available from 6.00 pm to 8.00 pm. Lions Club stalls will not be operating at this time. Contact Alana Tickle on 6559 2148 IF IT IS RAINING THE CAROLS WILL BE HELD AT THE HALLIDAYS POINT PUBLIC SCHOOL HALL.

LIONS CLUB FETE

Prior to the Carols , Hallidays Point Lions Club will be holding their fete commencing at 12 noon. Ham raffles, children’s entertainment and Bric a Brac will be available. We look forward to seeing you there.

UNIFORM SHOP LOST PROPERTY

There is a large amount of lost property in the uniform shop.

Please come along to see if any of the clothing belongs to

your child.

All clothing will be cleared or sold on consignment if it is not

claimed.

P&C CHRISTMAS RAFFLE

The P&C raffle was drawn on Friday 9 December.

First prize, a family pass to Taronga Zoo was won by

Second prize, a dental voucher, was won by David Rowe and

third prize, a framed Nemo Poster and DVD, was won by

Colbi Dullard.
