We are enjoying some great, warm weather as we hurtle towards the end of this term. I am currently watching the girls softball team battle it out against Caves Beach Public School. I am sure by the time you read this we will know the result. A massive thank you to all the people who have taken the time to do our Tell Them From Me survey. We have had a great response and if you haven’t had a chance to complete it, there is still time. The information is just below. More information about the survey is available at: http://surveys.cese.nsw.gov.au/information-for- parents The survey is conducted entirely online at home or on public computers. The survey will typically take 15 minutes or less to complete and is completely confidential. The parent survey will be conducted between 22 August and 21 October. Participating in the survey is entirely voluntary, however, your responses are very much appreciated. The unique address for our school is https://nsw.tellthemfromme.com/hpps2430 We are starting our new ACER tests very soon. Your child (Years 1 to 6) will be sitting these tests online over the next few weeks and we will use these results to further understand your child’s strengths and weaknesses at school. There is nothing for your children to worry about regarding the tests and we will be using the data gathered from the tests, along with other results from throughout the year to help write their end of year report. Just another reminder about names on items of clothing. There is a large amount of lost property found each day and with the weather warming up, jumpers often get taken off and left all over the school. When students’ names are on items, they are quickly and easily returned to their owner. If you could make sure each article of clothing has at least a surname on it, the returning of items will become a lot easier. Thanks for your assistance. Another timely reminder about student behaviour on the bus. Every now and then we are made aware of issues that happen on the school bus. Students are reminded that they are expected to follow the school rules whilst travelling to and from school. If any issues happen on the bus, the first person to speak to is the driver and then if he is not able to resolve it, the teachers at school should be the next port of call. We expect all our students to behave respectfully and with courtesy whilst travelling to and from school. Have a great fortnight. Peter Johnson PRINCIPAL PRINCIPAL’S REPORT PETER JOHNSON

The day was a huge success and all the children should be congratulated on their sportsmanship and enthusiasm! Dressed to impress, in a range of international colours, students enjoyed games including table tennis, badminton, rugby, long jump, handball and modified shot put. An obstacle course had them working hard, along with relays, sack races and tennis. Two stations dedicated to skipping, incorporated the Jump Rope for Heart – “Jump off” into our mini Olympics. The students had the opportunity to use single ropes, the long rope and for the very talented skippers, double dutch. It was great to see students of all ages engaged in and contributing to such a fantastic event! Well done Hallidays Point Public!!

Lunches on Diamond

Yes, the Canteen is staying open!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is with great pleasure that we welcome Kate Voorby to our canteen on a Friday for the remainder of

the year.

Kate has very generously offered to volunteer in our canteen.

You may think ‘I know that name’. Yes, Kate is Mr Voorby’s wife.

So, please stop in and say Hi.

For the moment, nothing has changed. We remain open on Wednesdays and Fridays. Wednesdays will

be run by Fiona Threlfo and Linda Cain. Fridays will be run by Kate.

Our Volunteers are really important so if you have offered to help out, we still want you. Volunteers are

invaluable. We cannot run a successful canteen without our wonderful volunteers.

We appreciate your patience during this trying time in our canteen.

All Volunteers will receive a copy of the new roster soon.

New Menu will be out next term.

From the HPPS P&C Committee

Canteen Roster for Term 3 Volunteers please contact Mel Orchard on 0413309862 or email [email protected] with any
