Dear Friends, “Welcome” to our Spring 2016 “Performance With Class Sale” featuring our high performance bulls and production females. Our offering for this spring sale is really, really good. The 70 head of bulls include 67 spring and fall born bulls (all fed together) and 3 older proven bulls. All have been performance tested; ultrasounded and will be semen evaluated this next week. The information on these bulls is very, very good. As in the past, bulls have been fed a high roughage balance TMR ration developed by Kevin Gassman of Cargill Animal Nutrition. The bulls get a lot of exercise in a dirt lot and look like bulls. “Take Notice” of the back fat on these bulls then they were scanned on March 17th. As a group, they averaged 0.21 inch of back fat, compare that to other sales (if they even publish it) that many bulls selling in other sales are considerably fatter, some twice as fat if not more, at younger ages than these bulls. These bulls are fed to they will go home and work for you and not melt away during breeding season. The female offering includes very productive heifers and cows; many will have calves at side. Many of the 2 year old pairs are AI sired and have AI sired calves.We are again proud to have longtime guest breeders, Mat Goodard, our herdsman and Dave Martinson of Cedar Falls. We are celebrating “40 Years” of Simmental Cattle. We purchased our first registered cows in the spring of 1976.
