This will be Coach Brian Powell’s 7th summer coaching the Hinsdale Stingrays. He was a 4-year varsity swimmer at Hinsdale Central where he was on a state championship relay, the fastest public high school relay in the nation that year. He also helped lead the team to a state title in 2015. He is finishing up his final semester at Southern Illinois University studying mortuary science. If he is not at the pool, you may find him working at Powell Funeral Directors, ushering at church, or with his family. Brian also enjoys eating desserts, traveling and spending time with his dog.

The Hinsdale Town Team is a member of the West Suburban Swim Conference, which swims “recreationally” with 8 other nearby towns. Swim meets are held both home and away. The conference is divided into two divisions: “A” for more experienced swimmers and “B” for less experienced swimmers.

“A” meets are held on either Tuesday evenings or Saturday mornings and “B” meets are held on either Thursday evenings or Saturday mornings. The season will end with a conference championship meet for both divisions and a team party. Please inform coaches as soon as possible if your child cannot make any meet, including the conference championship.

Please Note: Participants on the Town Team must be able to swim 25 yards unassisted and be at least 5 years old. Participants who do not meet this requirement will be refunded. This program is designed as an introduction to competitive swimming, not swimming lessons.

Time Trials will be held on Saturday, June 8 at 9:30 am in order to place swimmers into the “A” or “B” division. Coaches recommend you only attend if you are new to Town Team, were previously on B team, and/or with to show improvement to your coaches.

Each age group practices at different times Monday – Thursday. See below for those times. Parent volunteers are required for all meets.
