  • 1. I am aiming my magazine at males aged between 17-25 that have an interest in indie/alternative music and style themselves with a hipster fashion sense , wearing clothes from shops like Wellgosh, Size and Urban Industry . My magazine has a very unique feel with a NME/Clash magazine style to it which are relevant magazine that match my genre . I included many well known popular alternative bands inside this addition such as Cage the Elephant , Peace etc. which would attract that niche audience.

2. Again like said earlier i dressed my model in clothes that would relate to the hipster audience and attract a niche audience . I used the simple colour pallet to not make my magazine look over crowded or busy so this would attract the eye on the news stand, I also did this because I didn't want my magazine to look trashy because it was too busy. 3. Also i used quite a mix of informal and formal language to try and connect with my audience and not sound to formal and patronizing to a hipster , but also many neologism as many alternative bands tend to come up with their own new words during interviews , so i tried to incorporate this to keep my magazine relevant. 4. In regards to language choices , i tried to include many colloquial words to make the text quite chatty allowing the reader to relate to the text rather than taking one look and putting the magazine down. I used a lot of monosyllabic lexis and alternative music jargon discussing festivals and bands etc to not patronize the reader and look out of context talking formally when we all know that is not a stereotypical indie scenester. 5. Onto the formality of the text , and to appeal to my audience it had to be informal , but obviously to maintain professionalism it had to include some formal language , but during interviews with bands etc. the language was typical of an indie band and they didn't hold back , which i feel would appeal to my audience as they know that indie bands speak like that , so if they didn't it would be wrong and they wouldn't read my magazine . 6. The graphological side of the magazine was my main way to attract my audience , with exciting photographs and bright attractive colours to add text image cohesion to make the magazine flow . During the interviews with the artists there where a lot of neologisms and abbreviations that bands have created overtime which would relate to my audience as that's typical of an indie scenester. 7. The language choices and terminology used in my magazine are only for a niche audience, as some of it may be seen as offensive or derogatory as hipsters/indie scenesters are known for not really caring and saying what they like .
