Service Objective
The HealthAlliance Medical Library services the entire hospital community including the medical, nursing, and allied health staffs. The medical library also serves patients, students and members of the local community. The medical library is an active participant in the National Network of Libraries of Medicine and other regional consortia for resource sharing.

State of the Library Report 1997/98
Both library facilities and collections in deplorable condition. 5th floor.
Outdated book collection. Journal subscriptions canceled for two years.
All resource sharing services had ceased. Very limited Online searching/ No Internet. Library was considered inactive. Pharmacy now occupies the area.
State of Library Report 1998/99.
Collections weeded, New Books Ordered. Journal titles ordered/updated. Interlibrary loan services reinstated. Online Bibliographic Lit. Searches Current Awareness Service. Mediated Internet Access. (Leominster) Fax Service Available. Commendation from Mass. Med. Society.
JCAHO Survey- January 1999
Library passed-no deficiencies. Mr. Cronin Administrative Surveyor.
Recommendations: Consumer Health Facility, TQM/CQI materials.
Telemedicine-Awareness.
October 1999 Library Moves
As new facilities came online within hospital, space was needed for other Patient Care departments.
Medical Library temporarily moved into a tiny resource room near the cafeteria and overflow was moved into Burbank Hospital Medical library.
8 years! 1999-2007 in resource room.
