What to expect from this product: Produces healthy collagen Dissolves cholesterol deposits Reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease Increases blood ow to coronary arteries Prevents formation of free radicalsHumans do not make Vitamin C like animals do, we need to supplement this essential vitamin to meet our daily needs. Vitamin C and Lysine work together to build collagen, which strengthens and holds together the coronary cells. Inadequate amounts of Vitamin C means poor collagen. Coronary cells then fall apart just as bricks do without good mortar. Coronary arteries, closest to the heart, receive the greatest pressure. Without enough Vitamin C the collagen weakens. This sets the stage for heart attack. The work of Dr. Sydney Bush shows that vitamin C + lysine can help reverse the process.Reg $29.99 Sale $23.99 SAVE $6.00Berry or Plain 300g size

By Tom FletcherB.C. residents will be
able to buy B.C. wine from grocery stores by early next year, with some stores connected to liquor stores that offer full selection including hard liquor.
The provincial govern-ment released its frame-work for a major over-haul of liquor policy Thursday. It proposes a small number of new licences for Vintners Quality Alliance (VQA) wine sales from gro-cery store shelves, with future expansion to include B.C.-made craft beer under the same
licences.Richmond-Steveston
MLA John Yap said all alcohol sales will be rung through at separate cash registers, with staff trained in an expand-ed Serving It Right course to check iden-tification and sobriety. Customers will be able to stock up on groceries and alcoholic beverages in the same shopping cart, whether from in-store B.C. wine or prod-ucts from a connected liquor store.
Changes to take effect by this summer include licensing B.C. wine and beer sale and tast-ing at farmers mar-
kets, permitting happy hour drink discounts at licensed businesses and removing the require-ment for fenced beer gardens at approved out-door festivals.
Yap said the gov-ernment is adopt-ing a recommenda-tion from Provincial Health Officer Dr. Perry Kendall and other health officials to tie prices to alcohol content, in an effort to reduce over-consumption.
The government plans to maintain its cap on the number of liquor stores, with 670 private stores now in operation. Liquor stores are cur-rently restricted to relo-cating no more than five km from their original location, but that restric-tion is being lifted so a licence can be sold or moved anywhere in the province.
Yap said that would allow either a govern-ment or private liquor store to relocate next to a grocery store.
Another major change in the works is to whole-sale pricing from the governments monop-oly Liquor Distribution Branch. Currently pri-
vate stores pay a 16 per cent discount off the government store retail
price.Yap said the LDB will
move to the same whole-sale price for all stores, based on the value of each product, and retail
prices will be set by a competitive market.
Booze will be coming to grocery stores in the province in 2015

This may be the last chance to take advan-tage of Provincial incen-tives to upgrade your old wood burning stove to a new, cleaner burn-ing and energy efficient model, as further fund-ing for the program is in doubt.
Wildsights pro-gram coordinator, Erna Jensen-Shill reports that there are just 25 rebates of $250 remaining for residents of Cranbrook, Kimberley and RDEK Rural Areas C and E wising to upgrade to a new EPA/CSA approved model. The cities of Cranbrook, Kimberley and the RDEK will also waive the building permit fees for installation of the new appliances ($50 - $75). Additionally, participating retail-ers in Kimberley and Cranbrook will offer up to an additional $150 off
new stove models dur-ing the months of March and April.
The goal of the pro-gram is to improve air quality. A new EPA/CSA certified stove produces about 90 per cent less particulate matter (smoke) which improves air quality in and around homes. Other benefits of the new models is that they require less wood and are generally safer - cer-tified wood stoves will greatly reduce creosote buildup which is the prime cause of chimney fires.
Wildsight is also offer-
ing a Master Burner contest to participants who qualify for the exchange program by March 31st. Lucky participants will win 1 hour of WETT cer-tified expertise from Richard Hedrich at Tip Top Chimney Services, along with tools to increase their wood burning efficiency such as moisture meters to test the dryness of wood prior to burning.
For more information on the program contact [email protected] or 250 427 2535 ex 224, or www.wildsight.ca/kim-cran/cleanair.

SubmittedAbove seasonal tem-
peratures, large amounts of melting snow and rain received the past two days is causing flood-ing issues and heighten-ing concerns around the City of Cranbrook and the region today.
City Public Works crews are dealing with a massive amount of water the area has seen the past two days. There are many areas of the City that are experi-encing flooding issues, including parts of Highway 3, the CP rail yard and some parts of Joseph Creek.
Right now every available staff mem-ber with our Public Works department and every piece of available equipment are out there working, says Chris Zettel, Communications Officer for the City of Cranbrook. In fact, Public Works has had to bring in several rented pieces of equipment to
help. We will continue to monitor the situation over the next number of days and keep the public updated.
Joseph Creek is cur-rently running extreme-ly high, higher than even the creek has seen in the spring freshet last spring. Staff is stretched trying to deal with the concerned calls from the public and are doing their very best to assist everyone. However, the public is being asked to please do what they can to help themselves as well. Residents who wish to get sandbags for their properties; Public Works has bags and sand available beside the
Public Works yard on Cobham Avenue. You will need to fill your own bags and should bring your own shovel. The City is bringing in a number of contractors to assist.
A simple thing resi-dents or business own-ers can also do, is ensure any storm water drain you have around your home or business, please make sure it is clear of ice and debris so the water has somewhere to go, Zettel said.
Residents are also advised to please stay away from any creeks, including Joseph Creek and lakes including both Elizabeth and Idlewild
Lake. Ice conditions on both lakes will most likely be very poor and someone may be able to fall through. The weather forecast is call-ing for continued warm temperatures and the potential for more rain-fall the next couple of days. Overnight temper-atures are not expected to hit the freezing mark
at least until early next week.
If you are experienc-ing a flooding related emergency or are concerned about the imminent potential for one, please call the Provincial Emergency Communications Centre at 1-800-663-3456. You can also get some additional informa-
tion on the Emergency Management BC web-site at www.embc.gov.
bc.ca/em/floods/index.html.
SubmittedWith the shift in
weather from snow-fall earlier this week to rainfall and above-zero temperatures today, the melt is on and reports of localized flooding are starting to surface.
We have had reports of some localized flood-ing in Wardner, Fort Steele, Meadowbrook, Wasa and Dicken Road in the Fernie area, said Information Officer, Loree Duczek. We are currently mobilizing sand and sandbags for the Wardner area as we do have some overland flooding affecting 4 or 5 homes in that commu-nity and will be assess-ing the need for other sandbags on an ongoing basis during this rapid melt cycle.
Duczek is also encour-aging residents who are in flood prone areas, or who anticipate they may experience widespread flooding, to keep the Provincial Emergency Coordination Centre phone number handy.
The first call anyone makes should be to the Provincial Emergency Communications Centre at 1-800-663-3456.
E m e r g e n c y Management BC also has some good infor-mation on its website - http://www.embc.gov.bc.ca/em/floods/index.html.

EDTA chelation is an intravenous infusion includ-ing vitamins and magne-sium that has been used for decades, safely treating hun-dreds of thousands of people with heavy metals and heart disease. EDTA has tradi-tionally been used for treat-ing people who are toxic with lead poisoning (it also binds other metals including cadmium and arsenic). I started doing EDTA chela-tion 15 years ago primarily treating patients who had heart disease and wanted to avoid bypass surgery, an application for which it works very well. It has also been proven effective as a treatment for people who suffer with leg pain due to peripheral vascular disease. For years, these treatments had to be done using intra-venous EDTA with mag-nesium because the EDTA molecule is so large that it can't be absorbed through the digestive system. IV treatment works very well but it is time consuming (each treatment takes 2 to 3 hours) and expensive. Over the years a number of prod-ucts have been developed as oral alternatives to EDTA intravenous chelation but
none of them has made the molecule more absorbable. As a result, only about 5% of the EDTA from these supplements would get into the blood stream, making the treatment largely inef-fective. A company called Allergy Research has changed the EDTA chela-tion game with the develop-ment of LipoPhos EDTA. LipoPhos EDTA is made up of essential phospholipids (EPL), EDTA, alpha-lipoic acid and magnesium. EPL's are naturally occurring fats that form part of the outer membrane of cells. These fats make anything they are attached to more absorbable. By binding EDTA to nano-meter sized phospholipids LipoPhos makes it possible for people to get effective doses of EDTA from the comfort of their home simply by drinking an ounce of fluid. No longer do people have to cope with the IV needle, sit-ting for hours and spending thousands of dollars to get the benefits of EDTA chelation. LipoPhos EDTA can also be used to improve energy and blood circulation. It is also a safe and effective way to clean up excess heavy metals from your system.

Avana Gjendem, mar-keting and event coor-dinator for St. Eugene Golf Resort & Casino is a busy woman in a demanding position. She took time recently to answer a few ques-tions about herself and work at one of the regions premier desti-nations.
Q: Where did you live before you came here and what makes you stay?
A: I moved here from Vancouver two years ago. Coming from the big city, I have to say that I was a little intimidated coming to a small community.
In Vancouver, I was
just a fish in a large pond. Here, the pond is a lot smaller, but there has been an amazing feeling of inclusion.
There seems to be a real interest in see-ing the local econo-my grow as well as keeping good people (potential employees) here in the area. I see
it in all aspects of this community. I hon-estly think Ive been given wings just by coming here and I can say with certainty that Im not going back to Vancouver.
Q: The St. Eugene Golf Resort & Casino is a big part of the local economy. As a woman, do you feel like you are treated as well as a man would in your position?
A: This is the first place I can truly say they really do revere women.
Max Dressler (CEO) and the executive team have been very sup-portive.
I feel that a true lead-er is not just a boss, but someone who is generous in nature and encourages you to grow while they support you. I feel that support here and that they really stand behind their staff.
Q: Speak Your Mind, The Kootenay Womens Show, is being held at the pavilion at the resort. Obviously you have an interest in making sure the event goes well, but beyond that, what is the most exciting part of this years show for you?
A: Im really look-ing forward to seeing Wendy Mesley, the guest speaker. She is a strong, independent woman.

drivewayBC.ca | Welcome to the drivers seat drivewayBC.ca | Welcome to the drivers seat
Luxury wheels at just the light priceMALAGA, SPAIN - It might be winter here but its always nice to look forward to warmer days, filled with sun and clear roads. To get a sneak peek at what better weather looks and feels like, plus get a chance to drive the all new Mercedes GLA250 and GLA 45 AMG, the advanced drive program was held in Malaga, Spain. The GLA is built of the same plat-form as the hot, new CLA sedan that arrived last fall. Developing it into a taller, more practical small SUV is perfect for young families or couples that want the same underlying goodness that is in the CLA but with standard all wheel drive (AWD) and ease of use. Pricing has not been confirmed but when it arrives this fall, expect the same aggressive pricing that the CLA delivers. That car starts at $33,900 but with AWD comes up to $36,800.
LooksThis new GLA is not as tall as the B-Class, which also shares the same platform, and not nearly as low-slung as the CLA. The GLA has a less aggressive front grille
and stance, plus smaller wheel sizes compared to the high performance GLA 45 AMG version that sports 19-inch wheels compared to the base 18-inch wheels, but even the base model can get larger wheels as part of the Sport Package. The small, more aggressive touches and the lowered sus-pension do make the AMG look sportier and more purposeful but the stan-dard GLA with the optional 19-inch wheels is a head turner too.
InsideThe dash of the GLA is almost identical to both the CLA sedan and B-Class hatchback. There is a prominent screen mounted high in the centre of the dash, like an iPad application. The rest of the dash is sporty and functional thanks to stylish jet engine inspired air vents that
do a great job of directing air flow to just the right location. The centre cluster below the screen is very straightforward and easy to master. The biggest difference between the base model and the 45 AMG are the seats. The base comes with faux leather 12-way power seats that look and feel very good. Leather
is optional plus the seats are more bolstered. The AMG gets upgraded seats as standard equipment but race inspired Recaro seats are part of the Exclusive Package and look superb, thanks to aluminum accents and chunky side bol-sters. Other differences include a centre-mounted shifter in the AMG, where the base 250 gets the more practical column mounted gear se-lector, which frees up much needed storage in the centre of the car. Speaking of space, the back seats are much more practical compared to the CLA sedan thanks to a high-er roof, bigger back windows and much better outward visibility. The cargo area isnt huge at 1235L but the rear seats do split and fold for additional cargo capabilities.
DriveThe base GLA 250 comes with a 2.0L turbocharged direct injection 4-cylinder with a healthy 208hp and 258 lb.-ft. of torque, the same as the B-Class and base CLA. There is plenty of acceleration and cruis-ing on the highway is effortless.
Driving through the mountain can-yons back from Granada to Malaga was a real treat. The countryside is rustic and beautiful and the twisty roads sublime. The base GLA never set a wheel wrong and the 7-speed duel-clutch automatic can be left in economy, sport or manual for each driving situation. All GLA models come with standard AWD and this system can detach the rear wheels and drive in FWD for better econ-omy but switches seamlessly back when more traction or cornering capability is required, plus Dynamic Cornering Assist applies just a small amount of brake force to the inside wheel when cornering to aid in the process. The 45 AMG takes things to a completely new level. The 2.0L 4-cylinder is hand assem-bled and pumps out a whopping 355hp and 332 lb.-ft. of torque. The 7-speed transmission and AWD system have been adapted by AMG to deliver a go-cart like drive that is so reassuring and potent that it makes the driver look and feel fantastic. Cornering is effortless and the bigger wheels and lowered suspension give great feedback but it is not jarring.
VerdictMercedes Benz is enabling more people to access its brand with smaller less expensive vehicles. The new GLA 250 and GLA 45 AMG are certainly very attractive, powerful and fun vehicles to drive.

No other vehicle, sold in Canada, has been as domi-nant in a market segment as the Dodge Grand Caravan.
Dodge (aka Chrysler) is often credited with invent-ing the minivan or magic wagon, about thirty years ago, and it makes the Grand Caravan in Canada. Competi-tors have come and many are
gone, as none has been able to match the amazing value package that is Dodge Grand Caravan.
About six or seven out of every ten new minivans sold in Canada, in recent years, are Dodge Grand Caravans. This, in turn, accounts for the huge selection of previously owned Grand Caravans available and the healthy competition gives a buyer a distinct advantage.
Consumer Reports owner surveys show higher than average repair problems with brakes, body hardware and power equipment. On the plus side, basic major mechanical stuff, like engine and trans-mission, get generally good reliability ratings. No matter where you live in BC, finding a service provider or replace-ment parts when needed should not be a problem and costs tend to be lower, impor-tant considerations for used buyers.
For the 2011 model year, Dodge did a major redesign of Grand Caravan. Its a more boxy shape than before and the interior refit incorporated the latest connectivity and safety features. Under the hood, a new 3.6-litre Pen-
tastar V6 engine mated to a six-speed automatic transaxle was the only powertrain of-fered and all-wheel-drive was an option.
In addition to being more fuel-efficient the new 3.6-li-tre V6 can provide a very im-pressive 283 horsepower and more than 260 lb-ft of torque, and it replaced three V6 en-gines (3.3-litre, 3.8-litre and 4.0-litre) that were offered in the previous Grand Caravan. City/highway fuel economy is rated at 12.2/7.9 L/100km
and a new driver-selectable fuel economizer mode than can adjust powertrain set-tings for best fuel economy, at the press of a switch.
Grand Caravan trim lev-els are SE (which includes a Canada Value Package), SXT (which adds Stow n Go sec-ond-row seating), Crew and R/T. The unique to Canada added value package with the SE trim includes 16-inch steel wheels, dual-zone tempera-ture control, keyless entry, power mirrors, power front
windows, tilt and telescopic steering wheel with audio controls and drivers knee airbag.
The second-row Stow `n Go seating feature (on STX or higher trim levels) is exclusive to Grand Caravan. Improve-ments to the foldaway mech-anism, which allows them to slide into a storage compart-ment, allow a single user ac-tion. This feature quickly and effectively transforms a Grand Caravan into a two-seater cargo van, without removing
the five rear seats. A driver-side knee blocker
air bag is standard and safety conscious new buyers could also add a Safety Sphere package. It includes Park-Sense (rear park assist sys-tem), ParkView (back-up cam-era), Blind-spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path detection system (warns of crossing traffic when reversing out of a parking stall), rain-sensitive wipers and automatic head-lamps.
No significant changes were
made to Grand Caravan for the 2012 model year. Changes for 2013 were minor and included an upgraded DVD package with better screens and Blu-Ray capability.
Going with a popular ve-hicle choice has very real advantages, especially when its Canadas Minivan the maximum bang-for-the-buck Dodge Grand Caravan.

What are my favourite trucks? Its a question read-ers ask me all the time in the supermarket and on the street.
Though not in order of preference, here are my ten choices.
2014 GMC/Chevy Sil-verado/Sierra ton pickup has gone through some mon-umental changes this year. What an improvement with a very comfortable and refined interior on all trim levels, and three engine choices, the Eco Tec 4.3-litre V6, 5.3-litre V8, and a 6.2-litre V8.
2015 Chevrolet Colorado. Very similar in design to its big brother the Silverado, this Mid-size truck fills a void in Canada. Still expected to work as hard as a full-size truck, the
Colorado can tow more than 3,039 kilograms (6700 lbs) a 2.5L I-4 engine is standard with an optional 3.6L V6 with a six speed automatic trans-mission.
2015 GMC 3500HD Denali is a beast. This truck is built to pull and with 10,251 KG (22,600 lbs) of trailer towing capacity it does just that. The 6.6L V8 turbo engine delivers 397 hp and 765 lb ft of torque and is paired with a 1000 se-ries Allison transmission. With interior upgrades such as 12-way power adjustable bucket seats, heated leather wrapped steering wheel and a Bose sound system you can operate it in comfort.
2014 Ford F150 Ecoboost: With more than 100,000 Eco Boost engines being produced monthly, you can bet a major-ity of these engines are finding their way into the 2014 F150 pickup. It holds the record in Canada for highest pickup sales, and at 12.9/9.0 L/100 km (city/highway) it keeps the money in your wallet a little longer.
2014 Ford Raptor is still one of my favorite off-road vehicles. It has electronic lock-ing rear differential, shift on the fly 4 wheel drive, advance trac with roll stability control, and trailer sway control. Front and rear mounted cameras to add a second pair of eyes to the terrain around you and a 6.2-litre V8 engine to help you get up and over that hill.
2015 Ford F150. All new design features and a com-pletely aluminum body and high strength steel in its frame make this truck up to 317 KG (700 lbs) lighter. It has 11 new class-exclusive features, including 360-degree camera view, integrated loading ramps stowed in the pickup bed, 400-
watt power outlets inside the cab, LED headlights and side-view mirror spotlights, and remote tailgate release
2014 Ram 1500 EcoDies-el. This is a much-anticipated truck from Ram With a 3.0-li-tre V6 Diesel engine with a torqueflite eight-speed trans-mission. Not only will the Ram EcoDiesel give you 420-pound feet of torque and plenty of towing capabilities, it will also reduce co2 emissions and run on B20 Biodiesel. Its a game changer.
2014 Ram 3500. The largest and most capable pickup Ram has to offer. Alterations to the frame including eight separate cross members, hydro formed frame rails and high strength steel add up to a truck that is capable of towing of towing up to 13,607kg (30,000lb). A 6.7l Cummins turbo diesel en-gine delivers 385 hp and 850 lb ft of torque.
2014 Toyota Tundra. New body style this year, impressive hood and fender design. The western themed 1794 Edition commemorates the founding
year of a Texas ranch where the Tundra plant is situated. This interior is covered with Saddle tan brown leather seats and rich maple wood grain panels throughout. It is pow-ered by a 4.6-litre or a 5.7-litre engine. Can it compete with the big boys? This is the year to see.
2014 Toyota Tacoma. The Tacoma has continued to in-crease popularity and is a very agile four-wheeler. The double cab gives plenty of room for all your buddies and the 4.0-li-tre V6 engine can get you to your favorite fishing hole and back. With the addition of some modern day technol-ogy such as Backup camera, heated seats, 6 airbags, and a power invertor, this truck has everything I am looking for in a pickup.

One day, I walked past a junk yard and saw, what I
thought, was a relatively normal car.
Whats it doing here? I thought.Apart from a couple of scratches on the outside
and some moist seats, the vehicle seemed roadworthy.I immediately asked about the car.I was told that it was found full of fl ood water. Its previous owner wanted nothing to do with it.I bought the car for a couple hundred dollars.I didnt even have to register it in my name.Originally, I had no intention of doing what I did.I wanted to sell the car for parts. But, the engine still worked and
the vehicle could get a person from A to B.Suddenly, I had an idea.Since the car looked fi ne on the outside, no one had to know its real history. I was a genius. After a night in the garage with a heater and a little scrubbing, I posted an ad on Craigslist: 2004 black Toyota Corolla for sale.No longer need, bought new car.No room in garage need to sell ASAP!!!Few scratches, otherwise in great condition.Call
cell and well talk price.Thirty minutes later I got a call from a sixteen-year old kid a little younger than my son.We decided to meet at the local mall at about 6:00.I wonder if his parents knew what he was up to.I arrived at 6:20, telling him I was in a great rush as I had to pick my son up from soccer practice.Turns out he played, too. After some soccer gossip, we got down to business.I knew that a kid his age just wanted a ride to show off to his friends, so we spent little time on
the details. I told him the car was in perfect condition and was never in any accidents. No problems as far as I know, I said. The kid was sold.He trusted me.I never gave him my full name, and he never gave me his. He gave me the cash, I gave him the car.All was good.I was on my way.A few days later, I saw a TV program that talked about fl ood damaged vehicles. Apparently, fl ooding can damage the computer systems, which control things like the brakes and steering. And fl ood vehicles cant be registered or insured. Who knew?My mind immediately went to the kid I sold the vehicle to. I felt a twinge of guilt. Then my eyes darted to my stash of cash. Two weeks later, I had another car up for sale. Stay tuned!
I still remember my fi rst time.It was so easy. So thrilling. And I walked away with a couple of
thousand bucks in my pocket. Not bad for a few hours work.

Chris Palmer needed five Pontiac Trans Ams, nu-merous visits to eBay, count-less hours of work and the generosity of several friends to recreate the car that starred in the hit 1980s televi-sion show Knight Rider.
And he wouldnt hesitate to do it all over again.
It was totally worth it more than worth it, Palmer said of his KITT (Knight Indus-tries Two Thousand) lookalike. I love this car. Everybody seems to love this car.
Palmer started with a1991 Pontiac Trans Am, which had a better drivetrain but was nine years newer than the car used in the show. That decision necessitated the purchase of four more Trans Am models two each from 1982 and 1983 so he could swap out the panels and parts required to make it look like KITT. The 91 also has afive-speed manual transmission, unlike KITTs automatic, so Palmer chopped the gearshift and swapped out the knob to make it look authentic.
Palmer found KITTs unique dash (complete with two video screens) and the cars trademark front bumper on eBay, and everything operates and sounds as it did on the show. KITTs Michigan vanity license plate reads KNI6HT.
The Detroit-area resident said his 3-year project would not have been pos-sible without the help of Sled Alley Hot Rods owner Matt Gurjack and co-worker Steve Jay; Lafata Auto Body owner Eric Lafata, who did the paint; and H&E Overlays owner Eric Thompson, who assisted with the dash installation and also made the gauge overlays.
Palmer, president of the newly created Great Lakes Knights Car Club, which he and Thompson co-founded, hopes to build show-quality movie-replica cars for other fans. For now, hes enjoying all the attention hes getting from the ultimate KITT car.

OBITUARYMarilyn Ann Olson
February 6th, 1944 - February 23rd, 2014We sadly announce the passing of Marilyn Ann Olson. Marilyn was born in Nelson, British Columbia to Florence and Henry Turner. At an early age, she moved to Kimberley, British Columbia. At age fifteen, she met the love of her life, Richard, they married five years later and settled in Cranbrook, British Columbia to raise their family. For the next fifty years, Marilyn rode shotgun and sang along with Rick as they lived and loved.
Marilyn was a loving mother and wife and had a wonderful sense of humour. She babysat all of her many grandkids. She enjoyed walking, feeding the birds and solving cross-word puzzles. As well, she especially loved gathering wood and picking berries with her husband. A daughter fills your heart with a love that last forever.
My dear, sweet Chica; you were such a strong, loving and caring young lady right to the end.I miss your laugh, our talks in the mornings, your voice, your sense of humour...I miss everything about you.
In life I loved you so dearly, in death I do the same. You did not go alone that day for part of me went with you.You left me beautiful memories; your love is still my guide. And although I cannot see you, you are always by my side. Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same. But as God calls us one-by-one, the chain will link again.
See you in my dreams Angel.Love now & forever, Your Mom xoxo
