THE LATIN PATRIARCHATE

The Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem (LPJ) was restored in 1847; its main goal is to promote the best interest of the local communities it serves in. Today, the Patriarchal Diocese oversees about 90,000 faithful in four countries, including the Galilee, The Palestinian Authority, Jordan and Cyprus, covering a rich tapestry of cultures, languages, religions and traditions. Serving all with special emphasis on the support and care of indigenous Holy Land Christians remains the enduring mission of the Mother Church, the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem

INTRODUCTION

Anjara is located 75 km North of Amman and 20 km West of Jerash. It is mainly a Muslim Town with a total population of 20,000 and only 1,200 Christians. Anjara is a poor town with low income families. The Anjara Parish is a home to around 45 people: 10 priests, nuns and staff and 35 children. The parish priest of Anjara is Fr. Hugo Alaniz IVE, who is responsible for the parish, school, kindergarten, three children homes, the prison ministry, youth and family movements and dedicated to support other

neighboring parishes, such as Mafrak, Houson, Erbit and Swefieh.

PROJECT SUMMARY

Anjara Parish currently does not have a proper outdoor playground for the kids and children to play

and spend fun time together. The Latin Patriarchate proposed a plan to redesign it in order to help

the children develop physical coordination, strength, and flexibility, as well as providing entertaining

activities and enjoyment to the children and families alike.

The playground will be redesigned to have recreational equipment such as the seesaw, swing set,

roundabout, slide, sandbox, playhouses, rope net pyramid and benches. Moreover, the project

includes planting some flowers and trees in the playground to add value to the outdoor playing

environment.

PROPOSED BUDGET

The total estimate cost of this project is: U$ 6.500,00. For further details and the financial study, please contact the Project Development Office.

DURATION

The project will require one month from staring date, aiming to be completed in 2016. More details are

available up on request.
