Skin type is not complicated! There are four main skin types. Franc Essential has produced a range of

skin care products that is designed to simplify your skin care routine, giving you beautiful and lasting

Keep in mind that your skin type can be affected by changes to climate, sun exposure, variations in

diet, illness, stress, hormones, age and insufficient water consumption. In cooler seasons, for example,

you may require a more intense moisturiser and in summer a lighter one.

But the most important thing is that, whatever your skin type, you follow a regular and consistent skin

care routine.

What is my skin type?

Normal skin

Is perfectly balanced, being not too oily, nor too dry. Smooth, soft, moist and plump looking; clear,

small pores; few visible wrinkles, lines or blemishes; looks and feels hydrated.

Dry skin

Is either lacking in sebum or moisture, or both. Underactive sebaceous glands cause skin to be

dehydrated-looking, with lines and wrinkles; dull, rough patches; feels tight with a tendency to be thin

and brittle; pores are invisible. Dryness is also a natural result of the ageing process.

Oily skin

Overactive sebaceous glands can cause an oily appearance; shiny with large pores; blackheads and

blemishes; few wrinkles or lines. Oily skin may or may not be accompanied by blackheads and pimples.

Sensitive skin

Is a condition which can affect any skin but will usually accompany a dry skin type. Sensitive skin can

appear red, itchy, flaky; low tolerance to skin care products and cosmetics; dryness and burning. Skin

often reacts to the cumulative effect of one or more chemicals (and the way these combine) over time,

becoming sensitised and allergic, resulting in rashes, redness and inflammation.

Cleanse – daily / twice daily

Cleansing removes dead skin cells, grime, make up and pollutants. It is vital in unclogging pores and reducing skin blemishes, as well as reducing the amount of toxins sitting on your skin after exposure to urban air.

Exfoliate – regularly, after cleansing

Exfoliating allows the Franc Balancing Mist and moisturiser to penetrate your skin deeper, as it removes the outer layer of dry and dead skin cells that lie beyond the reach of cleansers. Franc Exfoliate is an especially gentle exfoliant that stimulates cell renewal and blood circulation, leaving the skin feeling fresh, clean and soft.

Balance – daily / as required

A balancing product like the Franc Balancing Mist will dampen and soothe the skin. Balancing improves the spreadability, absorption and retention of a moisturiser without the stripping or irritating effect of an alcohol-based toner. Freshen up throughout the day with Franc Balancing Mist.

Moisturise – daily / twice daily

Moisturising hydrates and repairs the skin, giving it suppleness and an even glow, regardless of age. Your skin will feel soft and look smoother and healthier. Moisturising counteracts the drying effects of air conditioning, sunlight, wind and pollution. Your skin will respond well to the natural compounds in Franc moisturisers because they are similar to compounds formed by your own body.

Franc Balancing Mist prepares your skin for more effective absorption of your moisturiser and is also an all day, stand-alone skin companion to calm and restore essential balance to the skin. Rose has more of a moisturising action and lemongrass is balancing and refreshing. Both balancing mists contain rose purified water as a humectant to retain the skin’s moisture and organic aloe vera to soothe skin irritation, aid healing and hydrate the skin.

To Use. Lightly mist onto face at a 20cm distance, after cleansing. Follow with your choice of moisturiser. The Franc Balancing Mist can also be used during the day to refresh your skin as needed.
