Innovative approaches to participatory technology

development in agriculture

ه ة ر ار: اان ات ا !"

Title

02 April – 17 June 2012 / Arabic Period & Language

Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs-DGCS Financed by

Applicants from Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, are eligible Eligible countries

In most countries of the South Mediterranean and Middle East region, agricul-ture is characterized by the relative deficiency of agriculture technology develop-ment and dissemination particularly in marginal areas and the gap between re-search and extension due to the inefficient participatory approaches in technol-ogy development. These constraints consequently determine the low agricultural productivity reached particularly by small-scale farmers who represent the large segment in the farmers’ population in the region. In this context, the MAIB e-learning course on “Innovative approaches to participatory technology development in agriculture” aims to sensitize and increase skills and awareness of operators from public and private institutions of South Mediterranean and Middle East countries, on issues related to participatory approaches in agricultural technology development and dissemination, thus strengthening linkages between research and extension to allow an easy adoption of agricultural technologies by farmers in order to assure an efficient natural resources management and the improvement of productivity and farmers’ income.

International technical workshop: “Guidelines for

the Sustainability of the Mediterranean Diet”; CIHEAM MAI Bari-Italy, 28-29 November 2011

The Mediterranean diet (MD) was recognized by

UNESCO in November 2010 as an intangible

cultural heritage of humanity. Considering that

present food production and processing, food

supply and distribution, and food consumption

systems are not sustainable due to biodiversity

loss, natural resources degradation, climate

change, high energy input as well as poverty;

present vulnerability of many Mediterranean rural

communities; and, particularly, Mediterranean

diet erosion and a consumer culture of overcon-

sumption; urgent measures are needed to

promote and disseminate the concept of

“sustainable diets” in Mediterranean countries.

Based on the shared definition of “sustainable

diets” and taking into consideration the recom-

mendations and guidelines of the Steering Com-

mittee - that held its meeting in Bari on May 26,

2011 – the MAI-B organised on November 28-

29, 2011, an international workshop to formulate

“Guidelines for the Sustainability of the Mediter-

ranean Diet”. The workshop brought together 28

experts (e.g. nutritionists, agronomists, econo-

mists, social scientists) from many Mediterra-

nean, European and international organisations

(FAO; Bioversity International; UNEP; CIHEAM-

MAIB; CIHEAM-MAIM; European Federation of

Nutrition Societies - FENS; International Union of

Nutritional Sciences – IUNS; Fundación Dieta

Mediterránea; Chouaib Doukkali University, Mo-

rocco; Pisa University, Italy; University of Naples

“Federico II”, Italy; National Research Council

(CNR), Italy; Aix-Marseille University, France;

University of Bologna, Italy; Forum on Mediterra-

nean Food Cultures, Italy;

Information system on organic farming (SINAB), Italy;

National Research Centre, Egypt; National Agency for

New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic

Development (ENEA), Italy; Universitat Oberta de Cata-

lunya (UOC), Spain; Ibn Tofail University, Morocco). In

addition, 23 young professionals from 12 countries

(Albania, Algeria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Egypt,

Ethiopia, Iraq, Italy, Jordan, Kosovo, Lebanon, Pales-

tine, Serbia) attending the Sustainable Agriculture ad-

vanced specialisation course held at CIHEAM-Bari, aca-

demic year 2011-12, took part to the workshop. The

multidisciplinary, transdisciplinary and intersectorial

effort made by the workshop participants allowed the

identification of 70 indicators dealing with food produc-

tion and consumption structured around four impact

areas: environment and natural resources (including

agro-biodiversity); economy; society and culture; and

nutrition, health and lifestyle. It allowed also to identify

some enabling policies for enhancing the MD sustain-

ability.

Workshop outcomes and Follow up up

The participants decided to create a “Task Force on Indicators for Assessing the Sustainability of the Medi-terranean Diet” which is open to all organizations and institutions that are ready to develop indicators for assessing the sustainability of the Mediterranean diet and agro-food system. CIHEAM-MAIB has constituted a Secretariat for the Coordination of the Task Force (TF). Indicators will be developed taking into consideration the definition of sustainable diets and the new Mediter-ranean diet pyramid describing the main features of the MD common to the different Mediterranean food cul-tures. The indicators will be used to formulate measures to safeguard and promote the MD and to make recom-mendations for multi-sectoral policy instruments to en-hance the sustainability of the Mediterranean agro-food systems and food consumption patterns. The identified indicators could be useful as a model to assess the sus-tainability of diets in other regions of the world. The re-sults and output of the TF’s activities will be presented on September 24-25, 2012, in Malta during the seminar that will be organised jointly with the 9th meeting of the Agriculture Ministers of CIHEAM’s member countries

Main activities of the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute

of Bari (CIHEAM-IAM Bari) in the field of Gender

empowerment and sustainable rural development

COOPERATION & NETWORKING

In the Mediterranean Countries we are still in need of hard

work and great efforts to bridge the gender gap, to fill the

difference between women and men working conditions.

There is still a urgent need for devising strategies to at-

tract the attention of society to the contribution of women

in the economic emancipation in particular within the rural

sector, a sector that affects the overall development policy

of a Country.

The slow progress in gender implementation in the major-

ity of the South Countries of the Region, asks for new

gender strategies to provide the solutions to the existing

constraints and to encourage and empower women en-

gaged in the rural sector. These women should be no

more forgotten in the ample plans to foster on the

economic growth of a nation.

For that matter, such a strategy should contribute to the

achievement of the 3rd Development Goal established by

the United Nations and whose attainment should be

reached within the year 2015. The UNDP agrees on the

assumption that to promote gender equality and women

empowerment are effective ways to combat poverty,

hunger and disease and to stimulate sustainable

development.

The commitment of CIHEAM-Mediterranean Agronomic

Institute of Bari in the field of “gender empowerment”

dates back to the early 2000 when such a topic was

legitimately included in development cooperation projects.

By now, it has acquired strategic importance and it plays a

central role. CIHEAM-IAM Bari is actively involved in this

field as you can gather from this brief list of activities:

√ 2002 – International workshop “ Gender and water

resources management in the Mediterranean

area” (Cairo, Egypt): The workshop was organized by

CIHEAM-IAM Bari in cooperation with the National Water

Research Center of Cairo under the EU Regional Action

Programme RAP, during the first regional conference on

the perspectives of Arab water cooperation, with the

attendance of more than 200 experts from the Arab world

representing public, universities, research centres, and

users and women associations.

√ 2005 – Project “INGEDI”: Integration of Gender

dimension in Water Management in the Mediterranean

Region”: In 2005 CIHEAM-IAM Bari was actively involved

in this field and has been assigned a development project

by the European Union: “INGEDI” whose main objective

was the integration of women dimension in the Mediterra-

nean water management and the development of ade-

quate policies.

√ 2005 – Training Course: “Iraqi women for sustain-

able development” (MAIB, Italy): CIHEAM-IAM Bari

organized a Training course and hosted a group of Iraqi

women operating in the sector of education, health,

agriculture and journalism, with the support of the Italian

Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in collaboration with

ONILFA (National Observatory for Women's Entrepre-

neurship and Labor in Agriculture). The purpose was to

introduce the international cooperation programs of the

European Union to the participants and illustrate the pro-

cedures for the admission to the funded projects.

√ 2006 – Project “GEWAMED” – “Mainstreaming Gender

dimension into water resources development and man-

agement in the Mediterranean Region”: In 2006 this com-

mitment has continued and has been strengthened by the

assignment of the coordination of the European project

GEWAMED, a project financed by the INCO (International

Scientific Co-operation) within the Sixth Framework Re-

search Programme of the European Commission (EC)

and addressed to the countries of the Mediterranean Re-

gion.

The overall objective of GEWAMED was to contribute to

the mainstreaming of gender dimensions in the Integrated

Water Resources Management (IWRM) in the Mediterra-

nean Region, by promoting a dialogue among the coun-

tries of the Region and establishing regional and national

information networks and coordination structures to pro-

mote the adoption of gender sensitive policies and build a

common knowledge base. A total of 18 institutions from

14 countries from the Mediterranean Region (Algeria,

Cyprus, Egypt, France, Jordan, Greece, Italy, Lebanon,

Morocco, Palestine, Syria, Spain, Tunisia and Turkey)

participated in the project that has ended in August 2011.

√ 2007 – Project “TERCOM” - Activation of mechanisms

to sustain Rural Territories & Communities in Lebanon.

financed by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs/DGCS

and implemented by CIHEAM-IAM Bari in collaboration

with the Lebanese Ministry of Agriculture and the Leba-

nese CNRS, with the technical support of ONILFA

(National Observatory for female enterprise and labor in

agriculture) of the Italian Ministry of Agriculture (MiPAF).

TERCOM Project aimed to support the income of the Lebanese rural Communities, by undertaking and devel-oping strategies in order to: - improve the quality of agricultural production - promote the development of rural areas - assist the fishing industry in south Lebanon

√ 2008 Launch of Lebanese National Observatory for

Women in Agriculture and Rural Areas “NOWARA”: In

2008, the Italian Cooperation Project TerCom “Activation

of mechanisms to sustain rural territories and communi-

ties in Lebanon”, financed by the Italian Ministry of For-

eign Affairs/DGCS after the Israeli conflict in 2006, has

promoted the establishment in Lebanon of a National

Observatory for Women in Agriculture and Rural Areas –

NOWARA.

The creation and launch of NOWARA was implemented

by CIHEAM-IAM Bari in collaboration with the Lebanese

Ministry of Agriculture, the Lebanese CNRS, and with the

technical support of ONILFA (National Observatory for

Female Enterprise and Labor in Agriculture) of the Italian

Ministry of Agriculture (MiPAF).

NOWARA is currently a specialized governmental body

which plays an important role for the promotion of territo-

rial development through the valorization of women entre-

preneurship and the creation of innovative dynamics re-

lated to the work and employment of Lebanese women in

the agricultural, agro food and rural sectors. NOWARA

also aims to support rural women by spreading knowl-

edge and good practices.

It will give further national recognition to women who play

a major role in economy and production, both in formal

and informal sectors in rural areas.

In addition, the Observatory will voice rural women along

with policy and decision makers; supporting them

strongly through legislative and regulating bodies and

public administrations.

√ June 2008: International workshop “Women Status in

the Mediterranean: their Rights and Sustainable Develop-

ment” held at CIHEAM-IAM Bari from 16th to 17th June

2008 and aiming to improve the institutional dialogue and

to promote synergies in the field of the “gender empower-

ment” in the different scientific and cultural sectors.

In August 2011, GEWAMED project has been officially con-

cluded and a conference held in Brussels on 13 and 14

July 2011 was the final step of the project after five years of

work.

The workshop on “The integration of gender dimension

in IWRM: lessons and challenges in the Mediterranean

Region”, organized by the Mediterranean Agronomic

Institute of Bari has been the occasion to evaluate the im-

portant results that have been achieved during the five

years of life of the project and to discuss about future

scenarios within its field of action.

In order to broaden GEWAMED’s scope and horizons,

following CIHEAM General Secretariat’s suggestions:

“Domaines d’actions prioritaires 2010-2013” and looking for

enhancing a deeper integration of women’s role in the rural

sector, IAM-Bari would like to launch a new international

network on “Gender empowerment for a sustainable ru-

ral development”.

The Network would allow to keep the institutional dialogue

open and continue the work of GEWAMED’s Partners with-

out loosing the efforts and the results achieved in these 5

years of project execution, as clearly expressed by the Insti-

tutions and Countries participating in GEWAMED final con-

ference.

CIHEAM, MAI of Bari and MAI of Montpellier organized and participated to 6th Water World Forum

One week to increase global mobilisation around

water questions

12-17 March 2012—Marseille, France

The Italian participation in the 6th World Water Forum 2012 in Marseille has been promoted by the Environmental Coordinating Unit of the Directorate-General for Development Cooperation of the MFA (Ministry of Foreign Affairs), in agreement with the MELS (Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea). The objective is to coordinate and highlight the global contribution of “Italy’s system” in its public, private and non-governmental dimensions. Upon request of the MFA, the Italian participation is coordinated by CIHEAM

Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Bari.

The involvement in the World Water Forum 2012 is framed within a general strategy targeted to focus on Italy’s role in international water policies and on its wide range of long-term competencies, offering a harmonized and coordinated image of our country; this is particularly important in view of the worldwide events of the forthcoming years. The World Water Forum is basically the first “pilot” step to assess the feasibility of this strategy, in the framework of the general involvement of all groups interested in a reasoned and sustainable management of water resources...Read more

The historical changes taking place in the Southern Mediterranean region since December 2010 call for a focused, innovative and ambi-tious response from the European Union. Throughout 2011, the European Commission has established the Neighbourhood countries of the European Union as a key priority and has developed a new strategy, which can be found in two Joint Communications of the European Commission and the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy

(COM (2011) 200 and COM (2011) 303).

Research and Innovation play a major role in promoting sustainable and inclusive economic growth and job creation. The development of a Common Knowledge and Innovation Space (CKIS) linked to smart growth and the EU's Innovation Agenda is one of the aims of the new strategy of the EU. The CKIS is meant to cover policy dialogue, national and regional capacity-building, cooperation in research and innovation, increased mobility opportunities for students, researchers and academics. In this context, a high-level conference is being held by the European Commission's Research and In-novation DG, in cooperation with other depart-ments, the European Parliament, the EU Mem-b e r S t a t e s a n d t h e S o u t h e r n

Extra Virginity: The Sublime and Scandalous World of Olive Oil By Tom Mueller

Scienze Incerta e dubbi dei consummatori:

Il caso degli organism geneticamente modificati (Slow food)

For millennia, fresh olive oil has been one of life's necessities-not just as food but also as medicine, a beauty aid, and a vital element of religious ritual. Today's researchers are continuing to confirm the remarkable, life-giving properties of true extra-virgin, and "extra-virgin Italian" has become the highest standard of quality. But what if this symbol of purity has become deeply corrupt? Starting with an ex-plosive article in The New Yorker, Tom Mueller has become the world's expert on olive oil and olive oil fraud-a story of globalization, deception, and crime in the food industry from ancient times to the present, and a powerful indictment of to-day's lax protections against fake and even toxic food products in the United States. A rich and deliciously readable narrative, Extra Virginity is also an inspir-ing account of the artisanal producers, chemical analysts, chefs, and food activ-ists who are defending the extraordinary oils that truly deserve the name "extra-virgin."

vulgativi. Learn more about Slowfood movement http://www.slowfood.com/

The Crises of Multiculturalism: Racism in a Neoliberal Age by Alana Lentin & Gavan Titley

Across the West, something called multiculturalism is in crisis. Regarded as

the failed experiment of liberal elites, commentators and politicians compete to

denounce its corrosive legacies; parallel communities threatening social

cohesion, enemies within cultivated by irresponsible cultural relativism,

mediaeval practices subverting national "ways of life" and universal values. This

important new book challenges this familiar narrative of the rise and fall of

multiculturalism by challenging the existence of a coherent era of

"multiculturalism" in the first place. The authors argue that what we are witnes-

sing is not so much a rejection of multiculturalism as a rejection of lived

multiculture. In documenting mainstream racism and the anxieties that inform it,

Lentin and Titley argue that the crisis is a projection of neoliberal societies'

disjunctures. Combining theory with a reading of contemporary events, it exami-

nes the transnational, mediated nature of crisis itself, and argues challenging this

notion provides activists with a chance to transcend resurgent racism.

NFP Tailor-Made Training

24 Feb 2012

The NFP Tailor-Made Training programme (TMT) specifially aims to improve the overall functioning of organisations by training selected groups of employees. A Tailor-Made Training is designed to meet the specific needs of the requesting organisation. A Tailor-Made Training

course has a maximum budget of € 200,000.

Who can participate?

The TMT programme is open to a broad range of organisations in the 61 NFP countries, from educational institutions, research institutes and ministries to NGOs and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). Read more...

What type of activities can be

conducted?

A Tailor-Made Training is a group training. The programme does not support, for example, seminar attendances and conference visits. To ensure cost efficiency and educational effectively, groups must consist of at least six persons. The maximum size of a group is approximately 20 persons.

Training location and duration

A Tailor-Made Training may take place in the Netherlands, in your own country, in a neighbouring country, or in a combination of these locations. Preference is given to training courses that are partially or entirely conducted in your own country or region.

A Tailor-Made Training must be completed and reported within 12 months after the grant has been awarded.

How to submit a training request

If your organisation is interested in a Tailor-Made Training you can submit a training outline to the Netherlands embassy or consulate in your country.

What to submit

Please submit your Tailor-Made Training outline together with a declaration of acceptance signed by the responsible legal representative of your organi-sation.

Download the training outline format (157 kB)

Download the declaration of acceptance (40 kB)

When to submit

Your outline must reach Nuffic before one of Nuffic's three deadlines. Ask the embassy or consulate what their internal deadline is. If you miss a deadline, your outline is not automatically transferred to the next deadline so you must re-submit it to your em-bassy or consulate.

There are three Nuffic deadlines:

1 April 2012

1 August 2012

1 December 2012

Selection process

The embassy or consulate completes its part of your outline and then forwards it to Nuffic for further selection.

After the deadline, an internal selection committee assesses all outlines against the capacities and needs of the organisations. The committee also looks at feasibility, relevance and linkages with other Dutch government-funded activities. This leads to a ranking of trainings that will be funded.

Download a sample of the internal committee's as-sessment form (22 kB)

The process of matching training demand and supply

The process of matching training demand and supply de-pends on the size of the training budget:

Training budgets up to € 50,000:

If your proposed training budget is below € 50,000 there are two options:1. A selected outline: Nuffic directly ap-points a Dutch training provider, who has to submit a training proposal. The proposal will be assessed by Nuffic and your organisation.2. A selected and approved pro-posal, developed together with a Dutch provider: the training can start immediately.

Training budgets between € 50,000 and € 200,000:

Nuffic will publish your training outline as a subsidy Call for tenders.

Interested Dutch providers can submit a bid, either on their own or as the lead partner of a consortium. There are no restrictions on the country of origin of consortium members, but they must meet the same eligibility criteria as the lead organisation. The bids will be assessed by a Tender Evaluation Committee (TEC) consisting of a representative of the requesting organisation, a Nuffic representative and an independent chairperson who is an expert in the subject of the proposed training. The TEC recommends the most qualified applicant after which Nuffic awards the grant to the winning bidder.

Science

Everything is everywhere?

Does the composition of microorganisms collected in the tread of a bicycle tire change while biking around the globe? Or does the bicycle tire function as a vector of microorganisms?

A team of researchers at the Institute of

Microbiology at the University of Innsbruck will

follow up those questions. Prof. Heribert Insam is

supervising the project which will follow classical

microbiological and molecular methods.

The enthusiastic biker and adventurous student

Johanna Mayerhofer will work on the project for her

a large soil microorganisms analyses.

Soil samples will be taken from the tires of his

bicycle. On 9 February 2012, Wolfgang Burtscher,

riding his bicycle from Innsbruck, got 2 days stop

on 22-23 February at the Mediterranean Agronomic

Institute of Bari, CIHEAM. In 365 days Wolfgang

will cross 15 countries (from Austria to Thailand)

and will pick up at each step, a ground soil sample

from his bicycle tires. The soil samples will be sent

to the Department of Soil Microbiology, University

of Innsbruck, and so far to be analyzed to assess

ties and differences of bacteria contained in the

various soils.

It will be interesting to know what microbiologically

speaking have in common Apulian soil and those of

“ROUTE PERVIEW !!!!”

Route preview from Austria to Thailand crossing about 15 countries

Source: http://www.tripmarks.at/route/

Wolfgang (January 2012) said:

“Early / mid February, I start riding a bicycle through 15 countries and will document my journey with TRIP MARKS, 21 x 21 cm pre-embossed with my tire tread sheets, which are then daily signed with my bike tires and supplemented by GPS coordinates and further information. In addition to the artistic documentation, a scien-tific investigation will be done by Heribert Insam (Institute of Microbiology, University of Innsbruck). There, the genetic fingerprint of the bacteria on the tire tracks will be analysed. Using the denaturing – gradient – gel electrophoresis, changes in the mi-crobial community over the duration of the trip will be analysed and described.

After the travel the TRIP MARKS will be presented within an exhibition. This is a tra-velogue with a difference. On this journey you will find about 365 paper documents and electrophoresis gels, which can be understood as projection screens for wander-lust, dreams andaspirations”.

The project TRIP MARKS combines art, science, sports and adventure in form of a cycling trip.

Stories from MAIB Former Trainees

Issue 4 Winter 2012 Pagina 25 @iamb community Newsletter Homepage

Chehidi Hatem was born in El-Kef in 1973. He was graduated as Engineer in Agronomy of semi-arid regions at the Agronomic Institute of El-Kef / Tunisia in 1998. After two years working at NGOD (Non-Governmental Organization for Development) as small farmers’ advisor (PNUD/TN-FAO project) and his interest to further studies on organic agriculture and agro ecology, he was highly qualified to partici-pate in 2000 to the 1

st Mediterranean Organic Agri-

culture Master degree organized by CIHEAM-Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Bari. In 2002 he has got his Master Degree in Mediterranean Or-ganic Agriculture (MOA) at Mediterranean Agro-nomic Institute of Bari-Italy (CIHEAM-MAIB). His Master thesis research work, after a literature review on agro-environmental indicators to assess sustain-ability in 2001, was a case-study in Apulia organic farm “(DESANTIS farm-Gravina). The thesis work covered a theme on “Prototyping or EAFS-Ecological Arable Farming System- as a new meth-odology to assess and monitor Mediterranean or-ganic farming agro-ecosystem”, supervised by Prof. Razo Enrico, Prof. C. Vazzana (Department of Crop Science and Land Management. University of Florence-Italy) and Dr. D. Petruzzella (MAIB tutor). The research work aimed to test prototyping or EAFS as a methodology to assess and monitor Mediterranean Organic Farming Agro-ecosystems. After his international experience and post-

graduation study at MAIB and back to his country

Tunisia, Hatem was determined to put the acquired

skill knowledge and the theoretical background into

practice in order to participate actively in the develo-

pment of the organic sector as a researcher and

farmers advisor. He has been hired at the Technical

Center of Organic Agriculture (CTAB)/Tunisian Mi-

nistry of Agriculture. Even, at that period, finding a

job was going to be a serious problem in his home

country. Consequently and since December 2002,

he has been involved directly in all CTAB activities

related to develop the agricultural good practices

and promote organic agriculture method. In addition,

he became member in different training and work

sessions on various topics of organic agriculture:

legal framework and legislation, soil fertility, Plant

protection,… organized by CTAB and targeted to

various operators : farmers, Network of regional a-

dvisors, students and young promoters

Chehidi Hatem (Tunisia) Former student MOA 2000-2002

Actually he is member of National Genes Bank Net-work (Cereals and MAPs), CTAB’ Technical Journal editing team member (in Arabic), member of Or-ganic Farms Evaluation committees. Moreover, he participated by several technical documents about organic Cereals and MAPs (Medicinal and Aromatic Plants). Since 2009, he is in charge to leader-Division of communication in CTAB and in February 2012 he was promoted as a Chief-Engineer. A good Development and a significant evolution of the of Organic Agriculture was highlighted in Tunisia from 2000 until now (evolution of area and number of farmers respectively: from 33500 ha (2003) to 403155 ha (2010) and from 550 (2003) to 2669 farmers (2010). The collaboration between CTAB advisors team, under the direction of Prof. M. Ben-keder, and all operators of the sector contributed on that mainly with hard work on training farmers and students, dissemination of organic practices and ensuring technical support to promoters (a Na-tional Strategy, a National regulation and a National Label were elaborated, initiatives to develop local market were initiated). The latest statistics of IFOAM/FIBL showed the Tunisia is ranked 27 in the world, 11 compared to European countries, 2

nd in

Africa and 1st in the Arabic countries in relation to

organic agriculture area. Tunisia is considered the sole country which completely applies a national regulation in African and Arabic countries. In addi-tion, Tunisia was recognized by EU on June 2009 and by Switzerland in May 2011 as a country having an equivalent organic regulation. Thanks to his membership to Former Trainees Network (FTN) which kept him connected with MAIB community and formers course tutors and classmates, he participated actively in the last (2011) follow-up distance learning course on “Advances in Organic Farming in Mediterranean and Balkan area”. During the course activities he pre-sented “Tunisian experience” a Case-study on Com-plementarities and Competition between Organic and Local Food. According to him it was a great e-xperience to come back to MAIB campus after ten years since his Master course study, to meet his old friends and to share new experiences. He usually considers that his experience at MAIB was an e-xcellent opportunity that helps him to open new hori-zons in his life, not only at professional level but al-so for friendship and communication skills.
