Pay a Cook or Guide: $30 We will travel with Quechua cooks and guides. They know the mountains and how to prepare safe, healthy, good food for our team. How that works: In 2007, a team finished translating the New Testament into the Quechua language (40 year process by Wycliffe and AWI). Since then, groups have been hiking into the Andes to deliver these Scriptures, bring other supplies, and share the Gospel. During our trip, we will continue this trekking ministry. Our schedule: July 12-22, 2012 Thursday: Fly to Lima, Peru Friday: Bus to Huaraz, Peru (10,000 ft) Sat, Sun: Acclimate to Altitude and Prepare for Trek Mon-Thrs: Trek to Quechua Villages (10-14,000 ft) Friday: Travel Back to Lima Sat, Sun: Travel Back to Ohio How you can help: You can join us in prayer and fi- nancial support. Quechua Bible: $12 (4 Bibles) In 2007 the NT was translated into the Quechua language. Many still do not own a copy for them- selves. You can buy 4 of them for $12. Bus Ticket: $25 It’s an 8 hour bus ride from Lima to the team’s base city (Huaraz). We’ll do that twice. Hotel Room: $40 The team will stay in a hotel while traveling and acclimating to the elevation. This re- lieves hosting burden on the missionaries. Help With Airfare: $100 1 roundtrip ticket costs $1,200! If the team cannot get there, they cannot accomplish their mission. Rent a Donkey: $35 Donkey’s carry our gear, food, and ministry supplies. At such an eleva- tion, this is the saf- est way to trek. If one item becomes fully supported, donations will be used for another item. Thank a Local Missionary: $20 Local Quechua missionaries will travel with us to help cross the language barrier and teach us about local min- istry. They are not asking for pay, but it is customary to thank them for their time.
