Major or Mini MovesAnything, Anywhere, Anytime!

‘Tis the season to be jolly, fa la la la la, la la, la la... What would make me really jolly at this ti me of the year and what I’d really like in MY Christmas stocking, is for people to re-spond to emails and invitati ons promptly (I’d even be happy with ANY reply albeit three weeks late/r...) I’ve been trying to fathom why people sim-ply don’t hit the “reply” butt on and send a one liner (a simple “No thanks” or “Yes please” or “Can’t do”), and I’m not talking about replies to bulk mails and newslet-ters. I’m talking about specifi c emails and invitati ons sent to specifi c people for a specifi c reason. Now I suspect some people don’t RSVP right away, as they may be waiti ng to see if a bett er off er arises, but I think it is just rude to not reply to your host/hostess by the RSVP date (even earlier than the RSVP deadline would be super polite, effi cient and worthy of some brownie points). My pet hate is when parents don’t reply to party invites, and the school won’t give you the parents’ details to follow up, as that info in “confi denti al”. So what to do – cater for 20 and hope for the best? Seri-ously! Perhaps this just irritates me and nobody else? Aft er all, my enti re business revolves around communica-ti on via email. I’d love to get your feedback on this – [email protected]. Have a safe and happy festi ve season, and I hope all your guests RSVP (and arrive) for your Christmas lunch! Alicexxx

Hubcaps PizzaHubcaps Woodfi red Pizza, once a pipe dream, is now a revving reality with branches in Morningside, Parlock, Pietermaritzburg and Phoenix. The brainchild of Faizul Ally – Fuzzy – Hubcaps Classic Woodfi red Pizza is driving tastebuds crazy. The ingenious creati on which inspired the iconic legend of the 60s has experienced such enormous success since its incepti on in 2011 – an achievement which can only be att ributed to its “master engineers” Faizul Ally and Izhaar Vally. The explosive combinati on of cre-ati ve ingenuity and fi nancial fl air has made this dynamic duo a recipe for success.

No newcomer to the food industry, Fuzzy is rather a connoisseur with a passion for making it happen. Renowned for his innovati ve, somewhat bizarre creati ons, Faizul, backed by Izhaar, has fi nally designed a masterpiece of a concept: Hubcaps Clas-sic Woodfi red Pizza. Recreati ng the taste and vibe of a nostalgic era, Hubcaps Woodfi red Pizza is created to perfecti on using the freshest, premium ingredients, topped with whimsical whispers of moz-zarella, giving you a symphony of fl avours in a crust of pure nostalgia.

Throughout their history, Hubcaps Pizza has provided quality pizza at a great price, resulti ng in outstanding value for custom-ers. Quality and value are core values at Hubcaps Pizza, but the brand also rep-resents passion, fun, commitment and a focus on family. This spirit comes to life in their “classic automobile” concept which is loved by kids and adults alike around the globe, let alone Africa.

Hubcaps Pizza is an iconic name that reso-nates with customers. Hubcaps takes you on a trip down memory lane, reminiscent of good old-fashioned hospitality, where people cared, where good food made for good ti mes leav-ing you with a truly memorable expe-rience. Hubcaps: creati ng memories, setti ng your inner legend free.

Quinn’s Coconut Oil The buzz in the cooking world at the mo-ment is defi nitely coconut oil. Mum’s Mail staff members were intrigued when issued with large tubs of coconut oil to try out. Here are some of their comments: “I have found this to be very handy in the kitchen. It lasts a long ti me without going rancid, and is great to cook and bake with. It’s healthier than using butt er or marga-rine when baking and we have used it to do the simple things like frying eggs. It leaves you without the greasy fi lm or heaviness you get from using other oils.” Daniella Fensome. “Love it, love it, love it!!! Besides all the health benefi ts, which are numerous, it works wonderfully with everything – no smell or taste of coconut at all! I will defi -nitely carry on using this amazing product that’s for sure.” Bev Delew. “I was baffl ed by how the ‘oil’ changes its consistency from solid to liquid depend-ing on the air temperature. It heated up quickly in the pan, however, and was clear and very light to use.” Brenda Daniels. Cooking with pure, defl avoured coconut oil has loads of benefi ts. It: helps to sta-bilise blood sugar; converts to energy, not fat; helps with cholesterol problems; has anti fungal and anti viral properti es; is organic (so no pesti cides or ferti lisers are used); is a recommended source of en-ergy for athletes. Quinn’s Coconut Oil is available in many parts of the country, including KZN, at most Food Lovers’ Markets, Bright on Health, Oxfords and Foodpak.

Causes of Co-dependencyNew research reveals that co-dependency is not a terminal illness. The cause of co-dependency is rooted in developmental trauma that happens during the first six months of an infant’s life. This means that if the mother and infant have an insecure attachment (for example: either through extended periods of separation or a de-pressed mother) in the early months, other major developmental milestones will be delayed. One such milestone is the ability to become psychologically separate from parents at around the age of three years old. They cannot separate if they have never bonded with their primary caregiver. Therefore co-dependent patterns tend to re-cycle throughout their lives until the early trauma is identified and healed.

The following are some key indicators of a co-dependent relationship: • You realise the relationship is not good for you and you still do not take action to break the co-dependent patterns. • You find yourself making excuses for you or your partner which help to hide the truth from others. • When you think about changing or leaving the relationship, you feel afraid and cling to it even harder. • When you begin to make some steps to break the destructive patterns, you suffer anxiety, feel scared, alone and empty which increases your longing to re-establish the old co-dependent patterns.

Christmas Special: Folding Bench Sandpit & Picnic TableA fantasti c Christmas present idea for chil-dren is a Just for Kids Folding Bench Sand-pit. All litt le ones love to play in sand and research has shown that it is an important part of a child’s development. Sand play is frequently used by professional thera-pists. Parents are oft en concerned about how to maintain healthy sand in a sandpit. This Folding Bench Sandpit is uniquely de-signed with two benches which form a lid to prevent cats and dogs from going into the sand when the sandpit is not in use. It also has drainage under the sand which keeps the sand healthy. There is no solid wooden base. Instead, the sandpit is lined with weed-guard. Weed-guard prevents the sand from going through the weed-guard but allows for permanent drainage. Just for Kids also off ers a six-seater Picnic Table for children, perfect for spending ti me outside, for memorable picnics and braais in the garden.

For Christmas, Just for Kids is selling items at discounted rates and is doing a fantas-ti c special combo: buy a Folding Bench Sandpit and a Picnic Table and save even more!

• Folding Bench Sandpit (varnished): R1200 (Save R300!) • Picnic Table (varnished): R1200 (Save R200!) • Combo Sandpit + Picnic Table (var-nished): R2195 (Save R705!)

The items can be collected from the factory in Spring-fi eld Park, Dur-ban. Go to www.justf orkids.co.za to book now.

My MunchkinThe MyMunchkin journey began with two friends wanti ng to bring unique and beauti ful products to the baby and tod-dler market. Their interest in fi nding edu-cati onal, functi onal and original products that help babies and toddlers learn and grow became a passion and it marked the beginning of a small, online business that has grown from strength to strength.

The MyMunchkin team conti nually search for products that are original and hard to fi nd in South Africa. And the results can be found on the website where consum-ers can place orders directly. Whether it be essenti als or just a “nice to have”, one thing that the team is sure of, is that you will fi nd some special treasures that your litt le ones will love.

Their product range includes nappy bags, books, children’s crockery, nursing covers, comforters, soft toys, nursery accessories, educati onal puzzles, board games, DIY projects, toys, teething necklaces, beach-wear and so much more!

Currently on off er is a special price on their plush, imported play gyms. Save 10% while stocks last! The play gyms are soft and comfortable and come with an arch of hanging toys and a squeak butt on.

To keep up to date on new products be-ing launched, special of-fers and competi ti ons, fi nd MyMunchkin on Facebook and like the page. Alter-nati vely you can contact them directly via the con-tact details below.
