Matt 16:13 When Jesus arrived in the
villages of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his
disciples, “What are people saying about
who the Son of Man is?”
14 They replied, “Some think he is John
the Baptizer, some say Elijah, some
Jeremiah or one of the other prophets.”
Matt 16:15 He pressed them, “And how
about you? Who do you say I am?”
16 Simon Peter said, “You’re the Christ,
the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
17–18 Jesus came back, “God bless
you, Simon, son of Jonah! You didn’t get
that answer out of books or from teachers.
Matt 16:18 My Father in heaven, God
himself, let you in on this secret of who I
really am. And now I’m going to tell you
who you are, really are. You are Peter, a
rock. This is the rock on which I will put
together my church, a church so expansive
with energy that not even the gates of hell
will be able to keep it out.
Matt 16:19 “And that’s not all. You will
have complete and free access to God’s
kingdom, keys to open any and every door:
no more barriers between heaven and
earth, earth and heaven. A yes on earth is
yes in heaven. A no on earth is no in
heaven.”

Eph 4:1 In light of all this, here’s what I want
you to do. While I’m locked up here, a prisoner
for the Master, I want you to get out there and
walk—better yet, run!—on the road God called
you to travel. I don’t want any of you sitting
around on your hands. I don’t want anyone
strolling off, down some path that goes
nowhere. And mark that you do this with
humility and discipline—not in fits and starts,
Eph 4:3 but steadily, pouring yourselves out
for each other in acts of love, alert at noticing
differences and quick at mending fences.
4–6 You were all called to travel on the same
road and in the same direction, so stay
together, both outwardly and inwardly. You
have one Master, one faith, one baptism, one
God and Father of all, who rules over all, works
through all, and is present in all.
Eph 4:6 Everything you are and think and do is
permeated with Oneness.
7–13 But that doesn’t mean you should
all look and speak and act the same. Out of the
generosity of Christ, each of us is given his
own gift.
