Dear Parents,

Welcome to the final week of Term Three.

Mrs Sally Keatinge has been relieving at our school this week, and has

bought her energetic ideas and activities with her. We have all learnt

much about gardening and propagating, and the Primary class have

completed some fantastic ‘Gold” activities as a follow-up to their time in

the Goldfields.

On Thursday, Mrs Brooker and the Primary class are cooking for lunch.

They are making a Zucchini and Bacon slice and another sweet slice,

and the infants children will be doing some juicing with fresh fruit and

vegetables. The children will not need to bring lunch unless they would

rather not eat this menu. As part of our Live, Life, Well @ School pro-

gram we are trying to encourage our children to choose healthy options

for a healthy brain and body, so we have been talking about having sev-

eral ‘Nude Food Days’, next Term, where the children bring food that is

not pre-packaged. Along with our garden, we will be purchasing a

Worm Farm, which will encourage re-cycling and add nutrients to our

garden.

On Friday, the children are invited to come to school in ‘Footy’ colours,

and bring a gold coin donation to go to the Murdoch Children’s Founda-

tion which researches childhood health disorders and diseases. The P &

C are providing recess and lunch, the menu is attached. Parents are in-

vited to join us and stay for games activities, lunch and the Assembly in

the Primary room at 2.15am. Please return your lunch order by tomor-

row, Thursday, for catering purposes.

Please enjoy your time with your children during the holidays, we hope

they return healthy and happy to start Term Four.

Regards,

Jenny

Thankyou

A big thank you to Bridgette & Craig for the donation of Yuccas to our

school garden.

Happy Gardeners! Memories of the Gold Field

I see…..

A old man panning for gold

A dog waiting patiently

A trooper waiting to see if they have

their licences

I hear…..

A river flowing on top of the rocks

Gravel swirling in the pan

Dogs barking at stray cats

I smell….

Smoke coming from a tent

Smelly socks

Gun powder in the air

It’s a scary place!

Pat Possum

My possum is called Pat. He is grey. He sleeps in a tree. One

day Pat went to the house. He ran up to the roof and went to

sleep. Dad heard him and he was upset.

He got angry and took the possum out of the house.

JUGIONG TRIVIA NIGHT

UPDATE

Craig, Bridgette, Jenny, Joey and Tayla travelled to Sydney to present the cheque to “Cure for Life” for $17,000. This will be put into brain cancer re-search. At the moment Brain cancer gets the least government funding for research and “Cure for Life” is fighting to change that while funding 50% of research. The cheque was presented to Marcella Zananeke (wife of Stan Za-naneke who died from Brain Cancer). Marcella is the Ambassador for “Cure for Life”.
