N BCL bottles and distributes Coca-Cola products in the Lake Zone of Tanzania, comprising Mwanza, Shinyanga, Mara, Kagera, Tabora & Kigoma regions.This is geographically
characterised by steep hills and far flung islands in the expanse of Lake Victoria. The company’s bottling facility is situated in 16 acres land in the industrial belt of Mwanza.
Incorporated two decades ago, Nyanza Bottling Company Ltd (NBCL) is a joint venture between Sumaria and CMG group. It is one of the largest Coca-Cola Franchises in East Africa.
CAPABILITIES
NBCL currently produces and sells more than 1.3 million glass and PET bottles of beverages and drinking water per day. These are for brands including Coca-Cola,
Fanta, Sprite and Dasani mineral water.NBCL has recently acquired licence for distributing Dasani products of Coca-Cola in Tanzania. NBCL has over 300 trade partners in the Lake Zone, in the form of Agents and Stockists, serviced directly from Plant and Depots.It currently operates with three Glass bottling lines (installed capacity of 100,000 BPH) and 1 PET bottling line (24,000 BPH) with state-of-the-art technology, equipment and processes.NBCL’s business processes are supported by other in-house facilities such as a fully equipped garage, fuel-station, a carpentry unit for pallets and a paint shop. NBCL is also working on strategic upstream integration in the area of Preforms manufacturing by latest technology equipment, HUSKY and a green energy project in the

PET SPECIFICATIONS
PET (bottle grade) is a kind of transparent, wear-resisting and corrosion-resisting plastics with high strength and a smooth finish. It is widely used the world over
for bottles of mineral water, carbonated soft drinks juice, edible oil, pharmaceuticals etc.A new division, part of backward integration of NBCL was commissioned in April 2012. This modern equipment from HUSKY confirms international standards in Production, Quality and Packaging. NBCL exercises stringent quality control at every stage of production to ensure that the PET preforms are of the highest standard.

Carbacid produces natural and certifi ed food grade carbon dioxide meeting 99.99% purity, for the beverage and brewery industries. Market penetration and presence have been the key strengths of the organisation and Coca-Cola Brand prominence is easily visible anywhere in the Lake Zone region.NBCL’s strategic advantage has been its distribution strength of delivering almost all the products up to point of sale by owning a fleet of more than 200 light, medium and heavy commercial vehicles. It also has its own cargo ship and custom-made tricycles to cater for delivery in every corner of the Lake Region.
