My favorite time of the year! I t's been a right busy summer for the camp and some our camp's members. It will continue to be that way for the next few weeks. I hope Will Adams and Ken Norman are on the mend and will soon be back to 100% soon. I was unable to attend last month's meeting, would like to say "Thank You" to all that filled in for me. I heard all went well and Mrs. Atkinson put on a fine talk.  The Chest erfield County F air has ta ken place onc e again a nd we ha d our recruiting booth set-up. We coll ected donations and right many names for membership for the camp/SCV and the UDC. I hope to see some of those interested attend one of upcoming meetings. Special “Thanks” to 2 nd Lt. Tommy Clinger for all his hard work at the fair and manning the booth just about everyday! I think we had about 14 members attend to help which that includes, George Winn and JC Hale, that came out and played one evening. It would have been an even better week if we could have had more members volunteer. A number of those 14 came out 2 and 3 times to cover the booth.  The Field Days of the Pa st, just took place over th e weekend a s well. Again, S pecial “Thanks” to 2 nd Lt. Tommy Clinger, for his hard work getting us in and set-up and for being on duty for all 3 days! This was due to the lack of volunteers! Again, only 5 members helped out for the 3 days. Plus, help from a member from another camp. We collected a few names for membershi p. Several ladies spoke to us about help with getting markers for the ancestors. I hope that these will work out so that we can install some markers. We were able to collect donations for this camp project of grave markers. As most know we purchased a number of items to sale to raise funds for the camp. This included caps, flags, and plates this worked out very well!  I don’t know the total but we did make more than we have made/collected before.
