I reflect over the month and thank of what a wonderful Confederate Memorial Day service Susathaway and the Virginia Flaggers presented on May 7th at Oakwood Cemetery. I was a beautiful s

Thank you to Bill and Blair for presenting the Wreath at the Virginia War Memorial and hono
ur Confederate Heroes and all the Veterans that have died in the service of their Nation.
Remember our Camp Raffle is on June 7 so get all your tickets sold and turned in at the meetinr max participation. I look forward to seeing everyone at the next meeting on June 7th at Dulce Vita

“In all my perplexities and distresses, the
Bible has never failed to give me light and
strength.”
― Robert E. Lee
Greetings Compatriots – Well the summer is finally here and with it comes the sounds of lawn mowers tryi
keep up with the overdose of rainfall we have been receiving.
t is also at this time of the year that we remember and thank our Good Lord for the men and women who fwhat they believed, was the defense of their homes and families. We should not only remember the fallen b
he maimed and crippled veterans who are still with us and in need of our care and prayers.
Compatriot Oren “Kevin” Mowels is continuing to improve in his battle with cancer and expects to be at ou
next Camp meeting on the first Tuesday of June. Please continue to pray for a lasting healing for Compatr
Kevin.
Lisa Marie Clinger, the Daughter of Compatriot Tommy Clinger, is continuing to heal from her surgery and
eceiving physical therapy at home.
Compatriot George Edward Winn Jr. has completed the cataract surgery to both eyes and his eyesight is gre
mproved. Unfortunately, George is also experiencing heart problems which sap him of his strength. He h
been told by his physician that the arteries going to his heart have deteriorated to the point where stints can
onger be put in. Nevertheless, Compatriot George is continuing to plod along and recently performed at th
George Winn Memorial Park for a Blue Grass Festival. George created this park to encourage the continua
of historical Virginia Bluegrass Music and to have a venue for young musicians to perform.
Our good compatriot Hugh Hawthorne underwent surgery on his wrists and the right wrist has healed nicel
The left wrist still has a way to go to completely heal and Hugh is doing physical therapy on his legs. Hug
expects to be at our next camp meeting but continue to keep him in our thoughts and prayers.
A reminder: If you know of any of our brothers or sisters in the camp who are ill or having difficulty of any
please don't hesitate to let me know. I can be reached at home at 794-0704.
