Message from Our Pastor

My Dear Family of Our Lady of Lourdes,

Don’t believe it when people say things slow down in the summer. Here at Our

Lady of Lourdes life keeps on moving! In the coming weeks we have much to

give thanks for and celebrate.

Firstly, let us give thanks to God for having had the blessing of Fr. Patrick and

Fr. Fernando with us. They have been very generous in giving of themselves and

our parish family is stronger for having had them with us. Even as we say

goodbye, we know that they will continue to be a part of our parish family and will

be with us throughout the years ahead. For example, both of them have agreed to

return and preach our Lenten mission next year!

We will say farewell to them next Sunday, June 9th. Fr. Patrick and Fr. Fernando

will be concelebrating the 11:45 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Masses. Following the 11:45

Mass, and continuing so that they might join us again after the 1:30 Mass, we will

be celebrating with them at a reception in the parish hall. I invite everyone to join

us and give them a loving send-off.

Secondly, let us give thanks to God for having had the blessing of Fr. Fernando,

now Bishop Isern, with us! The following Sunday, June 16th, Bishop Isern will be

with us to celebrate the 11:45 a.m. Mass; it will be bilingual. Following Mass we

will proceed to the “Meeting Room” and rededicate it as “Bishop Isern Hall.”

Surely he carries us with him as he ministers to the people of God in Pueblo,

Colorado, and just as surely he remains with us as we continue to live and preach

Jesus Christ here at Our Lady of Lourdes.

As we honor Bishop Isern we will also have the chance to see the fruit of our work

at this year’s carnival. The renovation of the hall and kitchen is really beautiful and

the hall is now equipped to provide for today’s ministerial needs. Looking forward

we have yet to welcome our new priests. But that can wait for another day…

Mi Querida Familia de Nuestra Señora de Lourdes, No crea cuando la gente dice que las cosas se calman en el verano. ¡Aquí en Nuestra Señora de Lourdes la vida continúa en movimiento! En las próximas semanas vamos tener mucho porque dar gracias y celebrar. En primer lugar, demos gracias a Dios por haber tenido la bendición del Padre Patrick y el Padre Fernando con nosotros. Han sido muy generosos en dar de sí mismos y nuestra familia parroquial es más fuerte por haberlos tenido con nosotros. A pesar de que nos despedimos sabemos que van a seguir siendo una parte de nuestra familia parroquial y estarán con nosotros durante los próximos años. Por ejemplo, ¡ambos han acordado volver a predicar nuestra misión cuaresmal el año que viene! Vamos a decirles adiós el próximo domingo, 9 de junio. El Padre Patrick y el Padre Fernando estarán concelebrando las Misas de 11:45 y 1:30. Después de la Misa de 11:45 vamos a celebrar una recepción en el salón parroquial y continuaremos para que se unan de nuevo a nosotros después de la Misa de 1:30. Invito a todos a unirse a nosotros y darles una cariñosa despedida. En segundo lugar, ¡demos gracias a Dios por haber tenido la bendición del Padre Fernando, ahora Obispo Isern, con nosotros! El domingo siguiente, 16 de junio, el Obispo Isern estará con nosotros para celebrar la Misa de 11:45 am, será bilingüe. Después de la misa se procederá a la "Sala de reuniones" y lo re dedicaremos como "Salon Obispo Isern". Seguro que él nos lleva con él mientras es ministro para la gente de Dios en Pueblo, Colorado y con la misma seguridad él permanece con nosotros a medida que continuamos viviendo y predicando a Jesucristo aquí en Nuestra Se-ñora de Lourdes. Al mismo tiempo que honramos al Obispo Isern también tendremos la oportunidad de ver el fruto de nuestro trabajo en el carnaval de este año. La renovación del salón y la cocina es muy bonita y el salón está equipado para satisfacer las necesidades ministeriales de hoy. Mirando hacia el futuro, aún tenemos que dar la bienvenida a nuestros nuevos sacerdotes. Pero eso puede esperar para otro día ... Bendiciones, Monseñor Schwanger
